Inspections Today and Tomorrow

My apartment complex is funded by Wheda, a government program for the poor. Wheda does random inspections once a year. The apartment needs to be clean and in good working order. No burned out lights, broken blinds, etc.
All my life I've been a clutter freak. If there was a surface it had something on it. Well, for the first time in my history, the clutter has been put away. The surfaces still have something on them, but not clutter, knickknacks. My tables are washed, the dishes are done, and my clothes are put away and my closets have been reorganized so I can get everything in them and close them.
The only room I didn't have time to do anything with, and it's not that bad anyway, is my office. It's presentable.
Inspections start at 9 AM, which right now is just after that, until 5 PM. The office sent out a Notice to Enter last week to let everyone know and that we don't need to be home for them to enter.
I'm also with Housing, which means they also do annual inspections per the time you move into the apartment. My housing inspection is next month. I got that letter this past weekend. I moved in in August last year, so I'm coming up on a year here. Hard to believe. Time has just zoomed by.
I could say I don't know what to do with myself since all the cleaning is done. My apartment is company ready. So let the inspection begin.
Do you have apartment inspections where you live? Thanks for reading.

I live in a house and it is my own. I could have it however I wished to and no one will inspect me. I have some places where I have more things than I wish, but I have been giving away some of my things to my children.

@just4him Not so much! I hand them some of my glasses and they break them.

No inspections here but maybe because they are privately owned and we pay the rent. I hope all goes well with your inspections and everyone is happy.

Good luck with the inspection. We own our home so no inspections except from company

@just4him I can remember one guest actually running her finger along some furniture. I guess she was inspecting for dust

Our inspector usually comes mid morning. It has been the same person for about ten years now. We have been in these apartments nearly twenty years. Sure wish we could get some fresh paint and new carpet here. Hope it all goes quickly for you.

@just4him .......That's a good thing. We have sometimes thought they weren't coming too and then they ring the bell out of the blue.

@celticeagle If they showed up yesterday, I wasn't here, but I don't think they did. I left around 4 yesterday to do laundry. They could have come in that last hour, but somehow I doubt they did.

I experienced living in a dorm during my school days and I know about this inspection time but I am sure it's not as strict like what you have now.
I haven't experienced living in an apartment, I am glad that we have our own house and up to know I have my own house too.
Your apartment looks nice and neat

Good luck with your inspections and it is hard to believe that you're there almost a year already. Time flies and I can't believe I've been in my house for 7 years already.

It has been a good year. I thought I would miss having someone living with me, but I don't. Congratulations on your 7 years.

I love the picture. We do not have inspections here, but they come in to put replace old filters. Unfortunately, I am a hoarder. Thus, when they do arrive, certain areas need to be presentable. I am trying to change certain things in my life, and one is being a hoarder.

@just4him I try to sell stuff on the FB selling sites. That helps.

Many of my clients have inspections. Often times we are scrambling to get things back into order or as neat as possible so they can pass inspection. I try to tell them that they need to put things back where they belong and not bring in more "things" so we have a neat space. However, that is a struggle and I have to learn to be patient with them and let it slide and do what I can to help.

@just4him I have some deep cleaning to do here. I had planned to take care of it in the spring. However, two little feet running around and getting into everything has kept me from my task.

Your place looks so cozy and inviting and lovely Valerie.
Yes we have two inspections a year here in this apt complex.
They only last a few minutes, they are in and out.
But I do know how hard it can be to clean when you are challenged..I am in the same boat..it is always clean, but deep cleaning is a different story.

Thanks. I think I got overlooked in the random selection. Fine by me. I do have my housing inspection next month.

Yes, we get scheduled ones, from having housing. And also the random ones, where they pick a few apartments from each circle to do.
