i always went for my confessions throughout the whole year, anytime i felt that I've committed sins and would like to seek for forgiveness. I've heard that christmas confession are very fast..which will take about 3-5 minutes, isit true? when are you planning to go for your confession?

Don't wait until Christmas...
You could do it anytime.
What's so special with Christmas confession?

I have not been to confession in years (since I was in grade school). I don't recall confession ever taking a long time. I remeber being in and out in less than 2 minutes.

I was in grade school and they would do 2 or 3 grades at a time. If you think 6 classes of 20 kids....that is a lot to get through in a few hours.

oh? and i thought that going for confession is the most humble thing that we can do...to actually confess out our sins in front of another human being?

I'm Baptist/Methodist, so I don't do the whole confessional thing. I don't believe that a priest is the middle man between God and myself. I simply go straight to the Big Man

i wont be going for confession but thats because im not catholic so makes sense, i never quite understood confession, when you see it one shows or movies is like you tell them all the sins youve committed and then they give you hail marys or something not quite sure, mayby you can fill me in a bit as to what its all about

i really dont know...there are some people who said that before we receive the Holy Eucharist, we will say 'Lord, I'm not worthy to receive You but only say the word and I shall be healed' is a sign that all sins are forgiven..but some say you have to go...so i'm kinda confused as well. so, i think it's better to go, rather than dont go..to be on the safe side

from what i heard (cos i've just recently went back to church), confession is all about confessing to the priest on all your sins and asking for forgiveness from God. someone told me that the priest used to asked us to pray the Hail Mary or our Father prayer a few times to be considered that we are forgiven. but nowadays, i dont see that anymore..when i went for confession, the priest actually are very comforting and wise...no punishment but very kind words. i kinda enjoy going for confessions! ;0)

I to am Catholic, but when i do confession I don't do it in the church.. I do it at home.. So its just between Me and God.. I just skip the Middle Man.. And Take it straight to God.. Plus i feel more confortable that way..

Honestly I haven’t been to confession in a while. Probably about a year. I know it’s a good practice though, and you’ve actually reminded me with this question. Thanks! I’ll go in early December (next week).
The length of time the priest takes with you is really up to the individual priest. Some priest like to keep it short, especially when there’s a line of people waiting to come to confession. Others take their time with everyone, probing and allowing them to share. I feel more comfortable if I’m not hurried.

I am Christian and we do not go to confession. I really do not even know what it is.
But I will go to a candlelight service at my Church Christmas eve and we will have communion and a prayer with all the lights off and only candles burning. It is a great experience.
