Should cell phones be used in class?

A lot of the schools are letting kids bring their phones to school. I don't think they should let them because it interrupts their learning time. What's your take on this?

To start, I don't think anyone under high school age should be allowed to have a smart phone to begin with. They are disruptive to the learning environment, encourage and enable cyberbullying, which in turn becomes at school confrontations, allows poor decisions by youth such as sexting, and, in general, are a very bad idea for tweens and teens.

@corinnagore I know it would be near impossible, but if you could take away his smart phone and replace it with a flip phone only capable of phone and text, it would be better for him in the long run. Neither of my sons had cell phones until they got their driver's license, and then only phones that could call or text, no internet access.

I sure wish they had it here. They used to when I was in school but now they let them bring them.

@corinnagore its not good for the students. based on my experience, I do not listen to my teachers during class if i bring my phone, I keep on using it while the class is going on. It can distract my mind and the whole class as well.

No. I am quite against such usage. I can not tolerate if somebody murmurs on a cell phone even in a group.

Personally, I am against the cell phones in class. It's only a distraction for the kids, who are going to learn and not to play. In Spain, many schools do not allow the kids to bring their cell phones to avoid mobbing, illegal photos or videos made during classes or during break time to control that they will not be uploaded on social sites without permission.

Here the primary school and high schools are not allowed students to use the cellphone. The teachers will take away the cellphones if they find them. The universities are more free to use it but it is not proper to use it when there is a class.

I think no cell phone zone in school. The students cannot able to focus in class if they have it.
