So has anyone actually seen what caused Kramer to go off the way he did? The things he said were horrible, but I'm curious just what it was that made him snap. Every clip I've seen starts right on his rant, not at what the dude said to make him so mad.
If anyone has a clip with the beginning, I'd appreciate it.

I think some people were talking and also heckling him. His show supposedly wasn't going over well with the audience, so I guess he was frustrated about that to begin with. But if you're a performer, you have to accept that and not shout racial things at the audience. Just ask them to be quiet or ask security to remove them if they're really causing a disturbance.

I'm like you and have only seen what Michael Richards did, not what the heckler said. I would imagine that everyone in public service type jobs get pushed to the end of their tolerance by other people sometimes. Kramer had the misfortune of being a well-known persona as well as of having someone taking a video of his outburst. He's apologized every way he knows how, but the media just won't leave it alone. Celebrities are the same as all other people, and we all have our weak moments and do things which we later regret.

I heard there was a group of people who came in after his act started, The waitress was taking their drink orders and they were talking rather loud. That was it. He just flipped out on them. I heard that they didn't even respond to him when he was going off on them.

I think the two peopel were just talking loud durring the show. He got mad and over reacted. It was ok to yell but there was no need to be racial about it.

He flipped out because they were talking loudly and he thought it was disrupting his show. They weren't really aiming their comments toward him they were just having a loud conversation between them I think they were talking about how bad the show was or something. Either way his outburst was un called for. Any halfway decent comedian would have just either ignored it or made a joke about it. Instead he acted like a fool and became irate and starting screaming racist remarks. I think he should have to give a formal appology to those people and everyone else at that show.

Yes I saw it. He was just being heckled a little bit. As a comedian I'm sure it is not the first time that this has happened to him. There is NO EXCUSE for what came out of his mouth. Then he has the nerve to be on Letterman claiming that he is not a racist. WHATEVER.

I completely agree. I think it's normal to lose control at times and say things you shouldn't, but you would only blurt out racist comments if you're a racist. Those things don't just come to mind out of the blue if you've never had those thoughts before.

Wow luck. Are you sure you're not in NYC? Those are the EXACT words a fellow classmate said after we watched it.
You're both completely right. And yeah, the consensus seems to be that it was just a little heckling, or just talking loud. That's just horrible. You really need to be ready for something like that if you're going to perform live.

I didn't know anything about this, but I was a fan of his. I checked it out on YouTube and I only see videos starting with him going off. It seemed like he was on something. He repeated stuff over and over. I don't know what it was that got him to fly off so bad.
