Extremely Hot...

I am still boiling hot.
After my walk I went to fix up some of the flower pots in the garden. I found out that two of my plants from the pots went missing. I knew straight away who did it. It was my dear mother in law. How many times did I tell her not to touch my plants? I know she is trying to be useful but I didn't ask her nor do I need her to do anything for me.
I was so mad that I just wanted to get into the house, open her bedroom door and scream at her. But I didn't. I had to calm myself first.
Now, 2 hours later I am still very angry with her.
I was going to have a good talk with her but then it was dinner time and I didn't want to upset her that she had to skip dinner. So, to get my message across, I asked my daughter to tell her on my behalf. I just wish I could talk to her instead of my daughter...
What would you do if someone really upset you? Would you get over and done with it straight away or would you try to calm yourself first before talking to that person?

@atoz1to10 But talks won't help when you are angry, it will only add our frustration and loss of peace.

Thank you...
I believe talk is a good way to solve a problem only to people who listen to the talk and change after that... Yes, and time does calm a person down...

@atoz1to10 That's good to hear. It's not worth upsetting her.

Sometimes I confront the person right away, but I always would regret doing that, because out of my anger I cannot help myself from hurling angry words.
Now, I learn to just calm my self first before I would talk to the person calmly about it, especially when they are the in-laws.

yes, I agree... we can be mad at strangers but with family/in law it is a no no..

I would wait until I'm calm enough to talk about it so that I wouldn't end up saying nasty things that I don't mean.

Thank you... and that was what I did... In fact, I don't talk to her at all, to show my anger but still stopping me from saying something I might regret later...

You probably did the right thing, as much as we like to handle our own problems, sometimes it is better to hand off our problems to those who can be trusted. This keeping everyone's mental health intact while knowing where everyone stands at the same time.

Yes, when we are angry we can say things to hurt the other person easily.

Probably best to calm down a little as the heat of the moment could bring worse results.

my mother in law is a nice person, the only thing I don't like about her is that she doesn't take no as an answer...

@Nawsheen I know she doesn't mean any harm... She just gets used to do things her way...

And she did it again after my daughter told her not to touch ''mummy's things''... I dont have anything nice to say to her so I think it's best for me not to say anything..

It is always best to calm ourselves first before losing control.

I would do my best to talk to that person in a calm tone and try to keep from yelling even though I was mad as heck.
