“Have you ever done anything to earn money at a very young age?”

Some kids have their own way to help parents financially. They can use their own innate skills to generate money for having school supplies, allowance, etc. I am not sure for you guys. When I was in primary school, I collect plastic containers in sacks and sell it. I don’t want to feel a burden to my parents. Way back then, it wasn’t like a bed of roses for the family. Even in a baby way of earnings, I did for the sake of helping the family.

Here it seems there are not many chances for children to earn money. I was a tutor for a high school boy when I was a college student. It paid well. I think since I was not a teacher, and I was also a student. And we didn't have a big generation gap, so I could teach him easily because I could understand him. Sometimes you need to be friends and therefore you can teach and your student can learn.

@Linda1234 I think if we do such actions, it means that the parents had taught us well.

Never got to be able to collect things like that it was not done.
I used to have to clean the house, cook, look after and feed and clean rabbits and hens and others.
I did not get any money till I was much older for doing any of that.,
It was so my Mom could go to work at the time.

I was not allowed to go out of the Street so that was difficult for me in particular.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I think my neighborhood was so safe and parents are too confident that children can play and not on the street.

I remember teaching another student my age way back then to some lessons i am good at and bringing home a money given from the parent of my so-called-student. I was so happy back then that i have something hand to my parents especially to my mom when i reached home.

@Shavkat Yes it is indeed nice to look back in those days where we get to help our parents at a very young age. It somehow make us feel proud of ourselves.

Babysitting is how I made money when I was younger. As a teen I got a job at a modeling business and that was better money and a lot more fun.
