Good afternoon to all mylotters!
It is nearly teatime, I had bought some curry puffs from the roadside stall, 5 pieces for $2 which is considered cheap.
Locally in Malaysia, curry puffs is Muslim spicy snack where you can buy or handmade at home with few ingredients. Honestly, I must admit that I am lousy at making curry puffs, always ended up the puffs opened up the edges alike oysters when deep fried.
The contents are made from chopped potatoes, chicken meats, onion, garlic, curry leaves and curry powder of any flavor. These puffs taste delicious with a cup of hot tea or coffee while watching favorite TV drama .
What is your snack for teatime?

@peachpurple It depends on what province, my friend. Some provinces love spicy empanada and others don't like it.

@peachpurple different fillings - coconut powder with sugar, dried milk with sugar/ jaggery and finely chopped dry fruits, wheat samolina finely roasted in clarified butter and sugar. These are the standard fillings while we go beyond and experiment.
And now I am going to try the spicy version too. Thanks for letting me know

The picture actually made me so hungry at this very moment and crave for one.
Here we call it "empanada". It has chopped chicken or pork meats, onion , garlic too and diced carrots and potatoes and raisins. So delicious.
However, your description that it is spicy made me salivate because I like spicy foods and I know that one is a food that I will really keep eating, once I have tasted it.

@peachpurple A bit sweet yes, because of the raisins. But that's when you chew the raisins. No, they are not spicy.
Maybe I should give them an idea that they make also spicy ones so there will be two choices - spicy or not.

I like puffs, cutlets, meat rolls , wafers, glucose and marie biscuits, cup cakes, and banana fritters are my favorite tea-time snacks. I buy these mostly when I want to buy snacks, and enjoy having it with tea.
