Does anyone believe that astro sign compatability is important?

I personally am a Taurus Woman and I have dated a few different men. My longest relationship was with a Sagittarius and it was completely awful. We both are very dominant in the control and stubborness department and we bumped heads constantly. I also dated a Gemini in which he had entirely too many struggles, emotional issues, etc. I felt more like he was my son instead of my significant other. Then there was the Capricorn who was very charming,but sneaky and disloyal. Now I am seeing a Libra and while no problems have risen as of yet we are still friends for now with the potential to progress as some point into a relationship. So is it true that opposites attract or is it just a saying? What are your experiences with dating signs that seemed incompatible as well as compatible?
