About a month ago, I decided to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the Game Heroes event.
A lot of people came forward to very generously sponsor me. To successfully complete the fundraiser, I had to play computer games non-stop for 24 hours.
Now, I love gaming. It’s one of my main hobbies. But I knew there was going to come a time during these 24 hours that I would struggle.
I hit the barrier after roughly 8 hours but energy drink helped me to stay awake. My S/O made food for me throughout the day and was very supportive. He doesn’t watch much television so he didn’t mind me taking over the TV for a day.
I found setting myself a specific goal to complete within the allotted time helped, so I bought a new game to play and finish in its entirety. I accomplished this goal, with time to spare and play other games.
All in all, it was a success and I am proud of myself. I have never done any fundraising before and I managed to raise just under £300. I plan to do the same next year!
Have you ever raised money for charity and if so, how did you do it?

@RaineLockheart Yes I had to speak to business groups regarding the effects of it to raise funds that way. Thanks Lucy.
