Too much bad news on Yahoo (and other places)

United States

I realize that it's good to stay connected to current events, as some of them are actually important, but does anyone else feel like the negativity that is being broadcast everywhere has reached an intolerable level? I made a decision recently to start ignoring the newsfeed on Yahoo for this reason. I had switched to Google News for a bit, but then decided to try an experiment and just tune out completely - and you know what - I started to feel a lot better. I'd rather focus on "the good news" if anything, and it's definitely not to be found out there. There is so much to do in life (and especially with the internet) these days, and I think you can also hit a higher vibrational level if you focus on things that are more creative and life-giving - and there is plenty to choose from. It's been said that what we focus on expands, so why would we want to dwell on so many negative things?

You are right. The news will have you depressed. I don't watch a lot of news myself. I don't believe most of it anyway.

I got to two places to get the news in Israel because I need to know what is going on here and I also get news at times on facebook that I did not know about. If I am tired of bad news all the time then I will not look at the news at all.

@LimeOtter What have you heard about Israel Randy? You should come see the country for yourself and then go back and tell people that it is not as scary as the news says. The news makes things up and tell lies about us. You have to talk to the people and ask them. It is an absolutely beautiful country full of so much history and worth seeing.

I turn away from the news because I don't trust it.

That is another good point. Because of all of these reasons it's nearly all garbage information.

I feel like we can't trust a lot of bad news that's out there, a lot of it is so fake..but you're right seeing negative news all the time really changes your outlook on things to be more negative and it puts you in a crappy mood for the day. Id much rather read more positive news because it would put me in a much better mood throughout the day.

Many people have been starting to turn away from the news as it is so negative. I agree with you, it can really affect a person.

I understand what you are saying about the news. I live in Israel and I go online to read certain news places because I need to know what is going on in my country.
