The Weird Things We Openly Do When Anyone Is Looking

July 9, 2017 10:56pm CST
Well, I'm about to soak my feet in a bowl I have that is lovingly named "The Foot Bowl". I am going to put hot water from the sink into it, then add a pot of stove-heated water to it. Then, if I have it, I will either add some apple cider vinegar or some lavender scented bath salt. Why? Because the hot water helps to kill germs that would otherwise lead to athletes foot. I've been obsessed with this strange foot soak since my last painful stint with athletes foot in high school. Now, I'm always scared to get it again. I'll openly soak my feet in front of friends if they are staying over. I have even offered to let them use my extra foot bowl, so that we can all soak our feet together. In addition to being really helpful, it's also very relaxing. It's not really something I can wash, so I am constantly replacing it. Which, it's cheap to do, so that always makes me happy that it's not a terribly expensive habit to have. I just realized how odd doing this is. Yet, I'm still about to do it, as will many other people worldwide. I just can't help but wonder what other unusual things people do while others are looking.

Apple cider vinegar is good to soak your feet in.

I think I can try that. The old practice in my country is to soak the feet in a warm basin with salt.

It's the same idea for me. I just use a large bowl instead of a basin.

How long at a time do you soak them for?

Until the water is lukewarm. Usually about 15 minutes.
