Hello guys! :) How are y'all doing? I'm here again with another topic... or rather question. it's about my younger brother. He's 13, and gets scared easily. He cannot stay in a dark room by himself, and can't sleep in his own room after watching these horror films which we tell him not to watch, but he refuses. I literally have to follow him to the bathroom everytime cos he's scared. I wanna help him kill that fear. Any suggestions?

He should not watch the horror movies if they are going to scare him.

A 13-year-old boy doesn't obey when his parents say that he shouldn't watch horror films? This is ridiculous. I can't believe it. Take away his TV set or whatever gadget he uses.

I think you should get to the bottom of the problem because he is afraid of all the things you mentioned in the post, because maybe it's something traumatic he had in the past... And in the meantime to help overcome the fear of showing him that it was not likely to be afraid of him...

I don't think that psychology is needed here but only sensible and strict parents.

total emersion works. BUT consult a SPECIALIST because hes so young. I would personally hold him in the dark, or give him a night light.
