Through the years, the way of communication had changed due to the usage of modern gadgets. It is also changed how people send messages and had created the use of netspeak. Most teachers are worried that students might forget the real spelling of words in constructing complete sentences. That’s the reason why they discouraged to use netspeak.
I must admit that I use netspeak when sending messages to my close friends. At least, we can save time in writing complete words.

I have never used it and always type out text messages in full correct grammar. This is something that I have remained pedantic about throughout my life, so I will never change.
I also agree with the concerns of teachers. This gives children an excuse to avoid learning to spell.

Personally speaking, students really need to complete the words in making sentences. Sometimes people cannot understand why. It is too simple. Students need to continue what's the education system had been started in learning the correct spelling of words.

For years I used the netspeak but I had to retrain my brain and stop it. I no longer use much, except lol.

Well that's stupid for teachers to think kids will forget real words just because they text or write on social media a different way.
I use jk and lol in person with my friends and family as a joke. And i use "netspeak" alot online. As many do.

@Bodyandbrain I do think that youngsters need to balance in using this netspeak. It might affect their performance at school.

@Shavkat yes youngsters are too fast and don't have patience to write the real word.

i used this kind of communication on text, until i learned that it is not good because the spelling and grammar is way out of line. like the Q in Pilipino, and it means KO, i still read the word as Q and not as KO.

@ridingbet It is a good thing that there is automated corrector in mobile now. We don't need to do netspeak.

I don't use it at all. And thanks for the chart. There were times I had no clue what they stand for, like TBC, LOL, CU... so confusing.
