Why do I get a load of responses to a simple statement, but very few for a post of substance? Anyone have an answer to that?

It could be because people do not like to read and think. Or it could be that at the time you are posting these discussions of substance perhaps people who are not as well versed in English are on. There really is no explaining it.

True. The language thing could get in the way for some. But there are many here for whom English is a first language.
