How could anyone not like this GREAT food? / myLot

There is one food that most people like, but there a few who hate it and that is the Tomato. There are a few in my associations that have said they do not like it. I love tomatoes! They enhance so many dishes, like pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, hamburgers etc. Also, for the longest time, I thought they were a vegetable, but then I learned they really are considered a fruit. Some people can't tolerate tomatoes allergies or something. My Mom can't eat tomatoes or oranges. I can't eat oranges but I can tomatoes and I love them.

I never thought about some being allergic to tomatoes. I like both tomatoes and oranges.

@LeaPea2417 I think it's the acid that bothers them. Tomatoes are loaded with acid and once or twice I ate too many and got blisters in my mouth.

When I was a kid, I didn't care for tomatoes. When I met my husband, he didn't care for them at all. But funny how tastebuds change . . . I absolutely love tomatoes in any form! And Hubby will even eat them now!

Yes , taste buds do change. When I was a kid, I didn't like shrimp or broccoli. Now, I like them.

Tomatoes are such a versatile "fruit." Good on salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, and grilled cheese and chicken shish kabobs to name a few items.

I love tomatoes .I add tomatoes to my curries .It gives good taste . I also add tomatoes in sandwiches and burger....Even I make tomato chutney to have with Dosa and Idly...

My father grew tomatoes all of his life and I grew up eating them right off the vine. I have a photo of his tomato plants - he was over 6 foot tall an holding a yard stick straight up and the plants were taller than that - so they had to be 10 feet or more. And his tomatoes always did well. We have been eating ours for a few weeks now...but the plant is no longer producing blooms, so it will be pulled out, but it's raining. We have another just starting to bloom and we just put in a small one that hopefully will be giving us fruit until fall.

I love tomatoes. They are so tasty and versatile. One year I ate so many tomatoes that my doctor told me to slow down on the number I was ingesting every day.

I love fresh tomatoes and just about anything made from tomatoes. My youngest son does not. Oh, he likes the taste but he has acid reflux. It takes the fun out of eating tomato based foods.

I most certainly do. I take one, wash it, eat it, the acids in my tummy blends it and the rest you know already...

Seriously though, Ima tomato fan. What's there to hate in it? It's a gift of nature! BTW, did you know that a tomato is not a vegetable, it's a fruit! Amazing, isn't it?
