Painful experience!!!

I have been visiting mylot for about 6 days in a row now using my smartphone. And it's turn out to be a slightly painful experience.
Nope, nothing's wrong with my experience here in mylot forum. People here have been very nice to me since I came. And once in a while I'm still encountering nice personalities here and there around mylot.
I was talking about my painful typing experience. As you can see in the image that I have posted, I have a very small on-screen keyboard. I know one can make it appear larger by using the mobile in landscape mode and all that, but it still is a mess as your view has now been squeezed down.
I have a laptop, however, but I keep it for my blog related works. And I try to keep my professional and personal life separate by using mobile for my most personal use and laptop for work related use. And so it turns out that my poor thumbies have to do all typing when using smartphone, which becomes painful in the long run.
What about you??? Have you been using smartphones to visit mylot? If yes, then, Have you experienced the same?

I am from an old generation that has not learned to type with the thumbs at birth, and I find always painful to type on a phone. I have used it a few times for myLot, the interface is not bad, but I am not comfortable with anything else than a true keyboard.

@shikharava It can help only if your phone is an Android phone.

Agreed! it's a lot painful on a virtual keyboard than a physical one. And the typos and lame checker suggestions you get, make your typing all the more difficult.

@deorahul why not make poetry or prose your new girlfriends. They'll be honest about your feelings...Don't you think?

I can understand your problem while mylotting through your smart phone. It could be problematic to go for mylotting through smart phone, therefore, I avoid it and would do it occasionally. I prefer to do mylotting either through PC/Laptop or Tablet. Moreover, smartphone adds more strain and stress to your eyes.

@shikharava You could think of buying a second laptop for your non professional work. .
I have no idea even a good eye lubricant helps in reducing strain on our eyes. Using smart phone for longer hours could trigger a pain in your neck and fingers.

Yes, that's true. But I have got to do it using a smartphone. I have my laptop for professional work. And smartphone is the only option left for more personal use. And for the eye strain part I use a very good eye lubricant, so I have one less thing to worry about

So you're alternating your smartphone and laptop use! That's a good way to minimize damage (aka thumbie pain)..

When I'm office or home I use the laptop but when I'm on field I prefer the mobile phone in mylotting.

@shikharava my production is lesser in mobile phone but I think I can deal with it, at least I can do mylotting even when I;m on field.

I have been posting to Mylot from my smartphone and it is more complicaated than using the computer. There is a little window that apppears blocking the sight from the words I´m wiriting and closing it each time, results tiring

Lately I've been using my phone. It's less comfortable than using it from the computer but I don't spend that much time here so it's still okay for me.

I haven't tried using MyLot on my phone, I don't think I could use the keys and the keyboard, it takes way too long for me to type with my phones teeny-tiny keyboard. I make more mistakes as well. So typing on the computer is more my preference.

I agree with you. Typing on a virtual keyboard is really a hassle. Every now and then it turns out that you're relying more on the spell checker that works along with the keyboard. Also because of its very small size, we are prone to commit a lot many mistakes. This all becomes quite a labor in my opinion. It's better we stick to the more tangible keyboard rather than sticking to this. That's my take on this.
Enjoy your day!
Peace

Good to hear that. Laptop keyboards are way better than these virtual keyboards!

Yes i am using my smartphone. I rest my hands from time to time. Like after spending for an hour or two. It's more better in laptop or computer with normal keyboard.

I agree. I guess, I'll have to do that too. Thanks. That seems a more viable option now.

Hi Shikha... Sorry to hear about your painful experience... I am also using my smartphone to be here.. And it's not as convenient as it would be using a computer.
It's good to keep the personal life separate from your professional one, and yet I would recommend you to use your laptop until you find another way. It's not necessary that this will mix your professional and personal life. Not just that but it will increase your speed and amount of responses. And it will be better for your fingers too...
Thank you!

Hello, @shikharava!
I don't use the smartphone to type anything as this painful for me as well. Screen is too small and letters are even smaller. When I type only letter another appears and I have to correct it and I am not fast enough yo type. So, I prefer the old way: wait until I get home and use my laptop or desktop to type. This is the only way I feel good typing and my mood is fine. When I try and use the phone even to type Whatsapp messages, I just don't and record voice messages on it.
