THE NIGHT WALKER

She had been married for only a month when her husband's 27 year- old son from his first marriage came to visit. That night after dinner and a movie the family including two younger step children retired to their respective rooms. It was around 1 a.m when she awakened with a start and saw a man standing in front of the bed. She opened her mouth to scream, but then realised that it was her stepson who stood there without saying anything. He turned and left the room - then she remembered what her husband had told her at their third meeting while walking in the park. He had confessed that he used to sleep walk a lot - but not any more. He revealed however that his three children had all developed the same problem. Do you know of anyone who sleep walks? And isn't it a very dangerous practice?

I had a friend that sleep walked @Kandae11, when I was 12 years old, we spent many happy days at the pool together. But I never went for a sleep over by her again

@Kandae11 true, she wasn't aware of it. But it was too strange for me to handle, we spent many happy days together, just no sleepovers.

It would definitely be a frightening experience for you - but not for her because she isn't aware of what she is doing.

I never met the woman in the story. A friend of mine who is acquainted with the family told me about the incident and I decided to write about it here, because I found it fascinating.

From what I have read, it seems certain medications can also cause sleep walking episodes. Good that it never happened again - you could have harmed yourself.

The sleepwalker can harm his or herself and also cause harm to others especially if they decide to go driving.

sleep walking or somnambulism should be managed because the persons with this sleep disorder might get hurt when they leave their homes. i once would sleep-talk, but not sleep walk.
