Sexomnia - yes it's a real thing

So, I have recently discovered I have sexomnia - this means I commit sexual acts in my sleep. It happens during the same stage of sleep as sleep walking and similar sleep disorders.
It's being in a half-sleep state until you stop and actually go into a deep sleep. For me it happens during high stress times. and directly afterwards. For example almost the entire time I was pregnant with my second child, I was masturbating in my sleep, no matter how sexually satisfied I felt.
This is because my stress levels, anxiety levels and my depression was so out of control that the way it manefested was sleep masturbation.
I was constantly exhausted, my hands and legs and hips hurt all the time and there was not a single thing that made it better...until I had my baby and my levels returned to normal. I still do it from time to time and it does put a strain on my marriage, but thankfully with help from my therapist, things are getting better and I am on my way to healing in the proper way. I will be starting new medication as soon as I am able to get in to see my new doctor. I can't wait till I can actually sleep through the night again.
If there is anyone else that has gone through this, how do you manage your symptoms? How has it affected your life?

They said that it normally happen if you really want to do it in person but you can't because you don't have a partner nor you are always immagining nor thinking about the things and you will carry it to sleep for you to feel and satisfied it. And if you have bf or husband then you may not satiafied with him that's why you are trying to make it happened and it comes with you when you sleep. They have another name for that they said about inner thoughts that can not be voiced out. That's what i heared before but i am not sure if it true.

But she said even when she's satisfied, which means sexomnia is harder to understand than it seems.

Sometimes that is the case. I'm sexually satisfied, but he does have his own issues that creates an emotional strain on both of us as well. So either way it is a stress coping mechanism....at least that's what my therapist told me.

Haha those are nice dreams. Usually the dreams I have while it's happening aren't pleasant though.

I've never heard of this condition, and as a man it sounds very 'interesting' especially if lying next to you, but I can understand how it can have a negative effect on your life.

Imagine getting blue-balled every night and then when you try to wake up your spouse for some fun time, all you get is either the cold shoulder or instant anger. It happens almost every time. My husband has grown tolerant to it most of the time, but sometimes it's too much.

there is such a thing??? When I was pregnant with my child, I was always having backaches, no mood for that kind of stuff. Even hubby understood.

Is was stress related. I was having ptsd episodes because my first daughter was born prematurely, and even though everything went fine, it was still very terrifying.

@TraciDavis really?! Isn't that a good thing?! Honestly this is a real life fantasy, well just my fantasy.
The good thing is your willing to fix it and hopefully everything will be ok.

@Neiltarquin It absolutely will be. It honestly is more like waking nightmare most of the time.

@TraciDavis one quick question thought, do you have any recollection when sexomia is taking place?
