My modem finally got replaced

Philippines
July 20, 2017 11:06pm CST
My internet got screwed again four days ago and an appointment got cancelled yesterday. So, I decided not to go anywhere today and finally the technician arrives. Things got screwed up so that he decided to replace it with a new one. I mean after a couple of years, I finally got that stone age thing replaced. I've been begging that thing change, now they finally did it. Not sure what to do with the router though but he connected to it anyways.

Happy for you. I also just replaced my old modem. The problem with my modem was that if there was a power failure, it would take hours before it would open again. Good thing that I was able to find a replacement.

@Letranknight2015 My ISP is Bayantel. For some reason, Globe purchased the company. Bayantel closed their office, so I went to Globe for replacement and told me to wait. As I could wait no more, I tried to contact the previous technician whom I saved the number. He was the one who helped me in finding a new modem.

@ARIES1973 That's what the agent recommend me during my last call but the technician here change his number. So I had to wait two weeks for him to come but then something went wrong again and he went back.

You didn't have the network to replace it for you? @ARIES1973 they could have done that.

Routers are quite easy to set up these days because the modern ones usually detect the signal and configure theirself. When I first bought a router all the criteria had to be configured manually, which could be quite laborious.

@Letranknight2015 When I first used broadband, WiFi routers did it exist. This ace it necessary for me to route the incoming signal from the router to a wireless station. I had to configure the router page by page then couple the wireless station and reconfigure that for each unit. That was a real laborious job.

Because my old modem didn't have any antenna like this one @Asylum the router was meant to spread the wifi into the phones and laptops. It was laborous alright, specially when my brother set it up.

I have always had good experience with Globe as they act fast on my request and it's always favorable to me. I guess it's because I have a blue account. Blue account is a privilege account.

@Letranknight2015 I have 6 postpaid plans with globe and none are below 2,799 per month. I have been with them since time immemorial. Globe telecom was the first and only digital telecom then that offers free text messaging. I was already with them then. I think that's why I have a blue account.
