I can see it

From my desk I can look out the window in the direction most storms come from for us. I can see the slight changes in the color of the sky and clouds. I knew by noon that we would likely have a storm last night. It was ten o'clock at night when the storm finally hit. It stormed all night, and for a while our power was out. That meant no fans, no air conditioning for a while, maybe a half hour or so. Sometimes I am wrong when I think a storm is coming in, sometimes it just passes over. I read posts by my friends on Facebook and here, though and feel very entertained by how the weather is. I see that @JolietJake had storms and wind. I know friends in Florida had pouring rain and so did at least two of my friends in California. How is the weather for you today?

Weather people are often wrong. Was your rain just delayed? Did it come the next day?

In the middle of summer the rain does not really cool us down here. I hope you can have some relaxing time while it is stormy and cold for you.

Even here there was a storm, how odd that far west TX and southern NM would also have storms along with your end of the continent. I can't stand the humidity though, I'm not used to it and I don't think 84% is nearly as bad as what you get but it's extremely high for the desert regions.

Well I am pretty central. I have been to El Paso, and would say it is about eight hours from me since I am on the east side of Kansas. @LadyDuck and I often have similar weather. 84% does sound very high for your area. @JolietJake lives in an area I used to visit in July and the humidity there was AWFUL.

This humidity is driving me nuts and since almost everyone I know has swamp coolers their homes aren't getting all that cooled @GardenGerty Right now it's 75 with 82% at 9am, that's not so bad but when it finally reaches 88 it'll be 43% which makes it difficult to stay confortable. I don't know how you and the others do it with the kind of humidity you get. It must make it hard to breath.

I can see the dark clouds coming from the north. We know that by tonight we are going to have another storm and pouring rain.

@LadyDuck, again we are in a similar weather pattern as you. Yes, my storms sweep in from the north as well. We do have some snow in the winter, though.

Here it has rained a good bit in the last two days. Power goes off in between. But we have diesel generators which act as power backup. Do you have any power backup systems?

We have not purchased any generators, but perhaps we should. We have the electric poser plus in winter we use gas to heat the house, in case snow storms take out electrical power. Our cook stove is gas, but for that matter we could cook outside or on a porch with our grill.

It is kind of hot but not like it used to be. There are clouds out there but I don't think we will get anything from the. I like to watch the sky and see what is happening up there.

I am so pleased to live where I get great views of the sky. I think I know where you live, as we have been friends on other sites. Often we have clouds, but they are different when the rain is coming.

Yesterday it was 97 and heat index of 105. Walking outside was like walking into a brick wall. I went in the pool early and again late - after the pool had shade. We are to get rain/storms today, I hope we do. Everything is far to dry. The sky was blue when we went to the store, now it is getting cloudy.

We have a river that fills up very high in May, and then trees come down and the wood blocks it and makes it get very high. Hope your canal can handle the volume of rain you are having.

@GardenGerty You do need to mow more often when it rains that's why my husband likes the rain. Believe it or not he likes to mow.

@JohnRoberts I lived in the San Diego area for a while, over forty years ago. I remember the Santa Ana winds. Our home we rented was stucco and I would go wet it down with water in the afternoons and let the evaporation cool us.

Here the weather is too hot and I feel like I will be toasted if I go out. The water from the tap comes just like it is connected to a heater. Too hot in here. I don't like it. It will be awesome if it rains here. It is good that you have a cool weather. Enjoy and be safe. :-)

I would find it very uncomfortable to be hot all the time. Our city water supply is spring fed and the water is fairly cool all the time.
