A Beautiful Day

We've had a beautiful day. Friends and family have dropped by and we loved seeing them. My better half's daughter and granddaughter brought us a nice big prepared bowl of fruit from Whole Foods. I never shop there because it's too expensive. I buy our fruit and melons and prepare them myself. I was shocked when I saw the price sticker. But we appreciated the thought. It isn't quiet so hot but we haven't been out any further than the deck. I sat out there reading the paper and some of my Anne Perry novel. Our only over head fan is on the deck and I turned it on. Yesterday we went to the park and I walked a bit but it had just rained and I didn't want to get muddy since we were going to eat. I carried another load of books for the free book box. And they might be the last books to go for awhile. Later on I might be able to part with a few more. Books are the only things I hoard but I still have old ones I will never part with. I hope all of you had a pleasant day. Nothing exciting here but we loved it.

It sounds a very lovely day Ruby. Fruit bowl sounds nice tho expensive I know oh well they wanted to treat you. Good you got to spend time with family then. Nice you give the books to the free little book box. We have those here too. I bet you have some very old books some of them that you are keeping?

They did want to treat us but I hate for them to pay so much when I can prepare the same fruit for less than half what they paid Some of my books are dog eared and older than my children. I did manage to weed out a few.

How thoughtful to have some fruits. I also think it is also good to hoard some books. I had my old books piled up in boxes. I am planning to have mini-library in the future.

We have one wall in book shelves and we have a couple of small book cases but I make room for another book.

@RubyHawk I think that's nice. I can still remember the house that I had visited. The living room is surrounded by bookshelves of novel books.

Sounds like a pleasant day yesterday. My day was good. It rained off and on and really cooled everything down. Today is more of the same coolness, so it's going to be a very nice day here. I have books I will never get rid of either. I still need to find one more bookshelf for the last box of books I have still unpacked.

Our day was a little cooler after the rain too. We can possibly add a few book shelves in our bed room if we buy more books. But I don't plan to buy anytime soon.

I shop at Whole Foods and other Natural food stores, but always prepare my fruit salads myself. That way, I'm sure of the freshness and quality of the fruit, and add what I like.

Many people here used to shop at Whole Foods. It looks like they might close here due to losing business to Kroger and Trader Joe.
