I don't know if it's because of the mild winter we had or because of all the rain, but the ticks are really bad this year. I have to check the dog daily and have been finding a few ticks on me (yikes) especially after doing yard work. They are nasty little bloodsuckers that carry serious diseases. I hate them.
I spread some diatomaceous earth around the perimeters of my property but being a wooded area, it's pretty impossible to get rid of them. I wish snakes ate ticks because there's been plenty of those around too. Staying inside more this summer :((
Do you see ticks where you are? Snakes?
Here's a song that has nothing to do with ticks except that I want them gone. -
I love this song to pieces =] NOTE~~ at the very end of this video, during the credits, it says the person who made the video was AmutoForever123. that was m...

Ha yes the song goes with it Suzie
No well I am urban so no ticks around these apartments, but I don't get much exposure.
That must be very miserable with snakes and ticks.
I know that earth stuff you mentioned..had to use it once when I lived in Kansas for chiggers though.

It works well for many things. Hopefully it will keep the ticks at bay.

Ticks, yes - back when I had a pet dog.
Snakes, not so much. Unless, I count the backstabbers here in the office , then yeah, I encounter snakes on a daily basis.

I haven't seen a snake in years and I don't thing there are any ticks but I don't know what they look like. They may not like the cold.

No, they don't like the cold and a frost will kill them off.

No it isn't. Cats are usually pretty good at getting rid of their own ticks but it's good to check. Dogs, of course.....

@DianneN - We can't be too careful - they don't take long to cause disease.

@suziecat7 We've found tick on the cat's eyelid, if that's what it's called. Our dog had a deer tick with a red circle around it. Off to the vet he went - immediately! Dogs, of course...... are another story.

The ticks are personal (yuck) - the snakes just slither by (yikes) - I prefer to see neither.

@suziecat7 Summer is not my favorite season, it is too hot and full of bugs.

They say it is due to the mild winter that fleas and ticks are so bad. So far none of us, including the dog, have had a tick.

No ticks here but I am sure they probably exist somewhere in Southern California. Mosquitoes are more prevalent.

The mosquitoes haven't been so bad but I'm rarely out in the evenings when they seem to congregate.
