Maybe 17 is a little extreme, but try to see things from her perspective. She knows all the dangers and evils of the world. My mom was a worry wart to the point where she had to take anxiety medication any time I went on a trip. She's been gone almost ten years now, and I sure miss those worry wart phone calls from her.
