I ate one spider, and almost ate another!

While happily eating blue berries I had picked the day before, I got one with an incredibly sour, slightly acrid taste to it when I was chewing. I knew then that I probably ate a bug. So at that time, I took the berries and washed them in a bowl, and up pops a spider! So yeah, it was likely that I ate its friend spider as well. After all, bugs and spiders taste different!
When was the last time you ate a spider and were aware of it?

If you look at the FDA's rules regarding flour and grains, there is an allowance of bug parts and even rat droppings (which I found to be worse than the bugs) as a small percentile in the products. Sometimes you'll see off-colored specks in bleached flour, and I used to think that was just husks of grains, but it's likely to be bug parts.

@Freelanzer I'm sorry. I was thinking originally that I was better off not knowing, but these days I'm kind of glad I do know.

@OneOfMany I will never look at flour and grains the same way again.

@OneOfMany Well, either way, I would be freaking out. I am no fan of bugs.

@inertia4 After watching the Lion King when I was little, I got curious about the grubs they were chowing down, but then again, I would never see raw meat as food either, so I realized that I wouldn't enjoy it.
I ate a cricket's head once... it was nasty.

Fortunately, it was very small. Still didn't taste so great.

It's better not knowing about it, if you have or not.

@OneOfMany You could be right... ignorance is bliss! (I have searched for that same beetle which my childhood friends considered as the best roast to them, but so far, I only remember vaguely its size - but in a child's mind, size is different too .)

I wouldn't be a super hero. I would be a super villain, because they have more fun! :)

@dollaboy And unlike most villains that never wear a mask, I would completely conceal my true identity.

I've probably eaten a bunch from grazing on berries. I wouldn't doubt it, at least. Usually bugs taste different.

Never. Eugh!
Isn't spider a delicacy in some countries? I'm sure I saw on a documentary that some tribes in South American countries enjoy nibbling on tarantula.

There are a lot of places that eat them, to be honest. I saw deep fried tarantulas once on some site.
