merrily they do mock me

Just yesterday afternoon I was pondering as to how I hadn't seen any in the house for a while. Then, as I lay in bed last night, one scuttled down the radiator. No worries, it wasn't big, blacker than black and very hairy.
This morning I was greeted by TWO of the little {biggish} rascals sitting in the bath. They weren't seemingly talking to each other. One was at either end and I'm not even convinced that they spoke the same language; the same species they may be but they appeared to be different breeds.
Or maybe one was male and the other female? Perhaps they were getting jiggy with it and I interrupted their fun. Or, so as not to be accused of discrimination, they may have been two males/two females.
Who knows what spiders like, not I.
But it isn't only the spiders which mock me. The sky was blue and sunshiney when I left home for my last Friday Adventure with Toddler Niece before her Mummy has a few weeks off work. The clouds were white and fluffy, big balls of baby soft cotton wool. The sun now hides behind ominously grey clouds.
I didn't bring my umbrella.
Oopsy.

@Poppylicious I use to be optimist and not to take the umbrella if the sky does not look too menacing. Many times I come home wet.

I don't - if I'm quite sure it's going to rain! I did check and wasn't expecting any downpours today. As luck would have it, there was no rain. The sun kept peeking out from behind the rain-filled grey clouds all day, and they didn't release their prize. Phew!

But if I let them bite me I might become Spider Woman, and that would be pretty amazing!

I left them in the bath. Hopefully they'll have wandered around for a bit and then just escaped down the plughole.

If you shoo them away you don't know where they've gone! I'd prefer to be able yo see them grinning at me.

@poppylicious I do speak Spider either. Perhaps we could ask the Open University to run a course so that we would know if they're talking about us or not.

I wonder if one day we'll all be able to communicate with all the animals? Surely that's going to happen!

That would be scary to see them in the bath. Maybe they had a fight before you came in the room.
