MyLotters are the nicest people!

I am involved in a number of different interest groups on Facebook. Sometimes the negativity really gets to me. Why do people feel the need to be nasty to those they have never met?
My two favorite groups of online people are a cat-lovers group, and myLot. The cat group is one that has been through many trials together for almost 20 years, starting with Usenet, Yahoo Groups and landing finally on Facebook. We help each other through thick and thin because trust has been built over many years. I have been on myLot (on and off) for over a year and it is very relaxing to be here. It seems that in these two groups, people can be polite and helpful to each other without negativity.
What groups do you have that are great encouragement to you?

I agree. I am fine with bitLanders too but the interaction here is different. I had a good experience with BlogJob too even I didn't get paid at least there are many nice people too unlike Steemit. Many people earn a good amount at Steemit but I never liked it. I am not only after the money.

I got on Steemit to follow someone who joined, then he stopped using it. I don't understand their system and it seems a bit shady to me.

@petatonicsca everything there is money money money, the FUN is missing. I didn't like their currency too because of dollar sign which is very deceiving for me. At least Bitcoin is using "B". I am into CryptoCurrency but I want it in a fun way. I hope WildSpark by Synereo would be user-friendly and admin wont tolerate members posting hostile blogs like Steemit.

Ive been around just 3 days I think and I agree with you aboutbyhe negativities in Facebook that could really get to you. I myself use it only when necessary. I like it here because I can voice out my thoughts and opinions and meet people who agree and disagree on my points without judging who I really am and where I came from.

I am in a writing group and a home canning group that are always very helpful and yes we are all civil to each other. People are very nice here but there are always a few that have closed minds and no matter how helpful you want to be its always a "no, not me, not the way it is" type of answer back so I just let that go and move on.

It is myLot too, and some closed groups on FB. There are so many trolls online, just ignore them.

There are times I get tired of facebook and just go in and out and other times I feel the need to go to it to see what is happening in my part of the world. I have my own groups on facebook dealing with animals. I have a support group with two versions and the loss of animals that are gone from us. I also like My Lot. I find it refreshing and relaxing and people have been helpful here. I also do Timebucks, but, at the moment I cannot get into it.

I like this sight too...for the same reasons...., it's the only sight I belong too.... I only use facebook to Keep in touch with Family and friends... and we're nice to each other...lol .
