Why can't we as Christians . or if we say we follow Christ ,why are not we Christ like . Why do we hate atheists so much and spread hate about them ?

I have been seeing my own fellow Christian friends , not all but many .when i ask them about their view of atheists .They start speaking with so much hate about them .In the movie 'God's not dead ' , atheists are shown to be too bad . Well God /Lord Jesus Christ didn't ask us to spread hate .He asked us to spread love . This is what the Lord said , and do we examine are we doing this? If we don't have love in us that was in him.How can we even call ourselves his (Christ 's ) followers . A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.(John 13:34) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.(John 13:35) If we don't possess love and keep spreading hate .Even the believers will become atheists some day. by seeing our hateful nature.
