I Have A Wedding Ring…But Not Married!!!

It has been months that I am wearing an engagement ring. It sounds pathetic but there is a reason why I needed a wedding band in my ring finger. The reason is to stop my online students asking my marital status before, during and after the class session. Sometimes we can’t finish the lesson because of such concern and I am tired answering the “why” questions.lol So I needed to pretend to be a married person. “Have you ever tried to pretend as an excuse?” Image Credit: unsplash.com

Yes I have worn a wedding ring so not to get hit on, seems some men don`t care if your married or not, they just want to ..... and walk away. I reckon there re some people who still do that but not me.

I agree. Some men do hit a woman despite seeing a wedding ring. They tend to be more persistent sometimes.

That can't be an easy thing to do but if it keeps them from asking questions then hopefully this will stop them.

@infatuatedbby Even I change the topic, they do insist it. If I am not in the mood, I will confront them to stop. It wasn't me that needs to be the topic.lol

I was so tired of these online students who tend to be flirty sometimes. I am a bit disgusted despite their adult age. They are so persistent and never stops sometimes until the end of the class.

You have a bunch of curious students? Is everybody so curious in that part of the world? Here, most everyone minds their own business.

It is a matter of pretending and not to be impolite for not answering some personal questions.

Wow, seriously? Are they allowed to ask such a thing? Why do you think they do? I don't think we'd be allowed to ask such personal questions in a class session

Actually, it is not allowed. They tend to be so persistent. That's the reason why confrontation comes along the class session. This is the only option I can think of is to pretend.

That is one interesting and quite amusing rationale for your ring. I must admit though that I don't fully understand it but if it makes your life more convenient, go ahead!

I am single, my friend. The issue is that my online students are hitting me online. In a simple word, they were interested to know me and it is not the main point of teaching. The idea is to let them stop asking me if I am still single.

The students kept asking because of your good personality, it might be some of them admire you and some felt you should be happily married at your age and status.

No, I have not needed to fake I am married. I was married for a long time but separated from my husband at the time for 8 years. We're divorced now.

I have never had to pretend I'm married, but then I have been married since I was 18. Sad but sometimes that don't stop certain guys from still hitting on you. Some even keep it up when you say No. Jerks!

If that works then that's good. I don't have a wedding set, not something we can afford but we know we are married and that's what matters.

It did work, my friend. I feel so disrespected whenever they ask me such question. I cannot even say No, Why. It is also impolite and I might hurt their feelings.

No I haven't but I had a friend many years ago who wore a wedding ring because he did not want the women who he took out to fall in love with him. He was a confirmed bachelor and wanted to remain so and pretended to be married in a bad marriage.

I heard some people do this. But I think it is unfair to play women's emotions about this concern. Moreover, some women won't care about it.
