A Good Surprise

Today I got a call from the father of the boy I used to babysit. The boy's mom let me go last week because she could not afford to pay me anymore. They just got divorced and have a contractual arrangement with their lawyer to have the mom pay for childcare. The father felt bad and did not want to let me go but had no choice. The father told me that he was going to use overtime pay to give me 2 weeks severance pay. Both parents knew I have been looking for work and would eventually leave. They like me and are references and wrote references for me. But no one expected for me to suddenly be laid off like this. I am grateful and appreciative for the extra money. If that potential job works out then I would only miss a week's pay. I am still looking and applying and I can tutor. I hope and pray for the best. I thank God for this unexpected blessing after the unexpected blow. Have others experienced this and/or what do others think?
