You're never too old or too young

My favorite musicians are my husband, our grandson, our daughter and her husband!!
When our daughter was seven, she begged for a piano so we bought her a small child's piano to see if she was serious. One day I looked and she was writing the notes of a song on a piece of paper that she had drawn a music staff on, then played her little piano reading her "notes."
Of course we bought her a real piano and started music lessons. We never had to make her practice. When she was upset or hurt, she would play her piano for comfort. I loved hearing her play while I cooked supper.
She started her lessons early in life but my husband started his guitar lessons at 68! He had always wanted to play and after our daughter gave him a guitar for his birthday one year, our son-in-law gave him lessons. I'm so proud that my husband has persevered and now we have a family band that plays in church! (Well, when the kids are home, that is.)
I guess the moral of this story is you're never too young or too old to learn something new!

With everyone living farther away, we don't get to play as often as we'd like. I do the vocals, sometimes with my son-in-law or granddaughter's boyfriend and the rest on instruments. And we just realized that our kids in Charleston don't live five hours away, they live seven hours away! We usually make a lot of stops on the way, but saw that it took us 7 hours this last time when we didn't stop except to eat.

I have discovered, though, that it's much easier learning something when we're young.

Yes you right! There is saying that AGE DOESNT MATTER, there is no age limit if you want to learn or explore new think it depends on the person who willing to learn

That was inspiring. You're absolutely right. It's never too early or too late to learn a musical instrument.

I never learned to play an instrument (well, I took piano lessons when I was young, but my mother let me quit!) So I just sing and the others play the music.

Thanks, it truly is a blessing when we play and sing in church. Our oldest grandson sometimes plays with us also. Our son is the only one in the family who doesn't sing or play an instrument. We tell him he's our video director! LOL.

I remember my mom was playing the piano when she was young 25 years old , I was 7 that was a great and fantastic time. Music was so warm though it was sad from time to time depending on moms mood. Music helps us live, work, develop , study , teach. Music is life

Thanks for this post. I really like it. Music is in our genes from my mother side. My aunts and uncles knows how to play at least 1 musical instrument. My son who's turning 4 shows a talent and interest. Your post gave me an idea to nourish his skills.
