Mom came home from her usual morning walk with friends. I went to her and surprised that the kitchen is filled with smoke!
I realized that before mylotting I went to boiled my eggs and they've been burning for an hour I forgot all about it.
What's even crazier is that my mom didn't see it even said to me she heard popping sound but couldn't find it
I thought i couldn't do this anymore, I never learn

It's a good thing that this was a cheap small egg, maybe it's a sign for me not buy eggs because of bird flu @ilocosboy

Sounds like a plan. But I used to have a whistling tea kettle, and too often I'd ignore it until it ran out of steam.

I almost laughed when I read this .. because I basically just did this my self 2 days ago.. Fortunately for me I think I only forgot about my eggs for about 20 minutes... but it was really annoying to me because before I forget about them I was checking them like every minute or 2, because I was wanting to grab one out after 3 minutes and have a soft boiled egg... and then I go from watching like crazy to just forgetting about them completely!!! how the heck does a person do this.. I think I am losing my mind. Anyway.. the eggs at least are still edible.

I still need to boil eggs though because it's healthy @minx267 I will just use a timer so that I won't make the same mistake as the last time.

@Letranknight2015 my son puts on his alarm on phone whenever he boils water for noodles, and when he wants soft-boiled eggs.

@Letraknight My grandma did that one time, also. She put eggs on to boil and then went out to the garden, to pick raspberries!

Hello @kobesbuddy that would definitely make her forgot about the eggs, picking up fruits definitely take devotion and time.

That is why if I'm cooking, my attention should be on that task alone. I had my share of smokey situations. I even left a pot of rice cooking for 4 hours, where am I? In the hospital, doing an overtime duty. I learned my lesson.

I hope that you will be more careful next time because it is really dangerous. Good that nothing bad happened aside from the ruined boiled eggs. Wish you a good day

@Letranknight2015 God knows why that happened at all, since I left enough water in it before walking away... (I don't like the burnt smell, but that didn't worry me one bit!)

I've left the kettle on and gone off too many times, but never food. One time, I left it on and went away for the day! Wondered what that awful smell was when I came home.
