Long before smart phones, I-phones and online activities, we sat in our living room and watched television. Most still do - including me - but not as much as before. Back in the day I was hooked on soap operas, then comedies. I moved on to talk shows, game shows and Lifetime movies. Now whenever I do watch television my preference would be: Award shows, news, world games (Olympics etc.) and the occasional movie. What were your favorite shows back in the day? - and what are you watching now?

I can - if I have to. These days we can see almost anything on our laptops - but I prefer a bigger screen for my special shows.

We had our first black and white tv in 1970 the first to get one. We had kids from around filling up to watch anything that was spewed out. I still watch tv and until recently it used to some serials and news but now it is only news as India has soaps to offer (lol)

I have no tv service anymore, I cut the cable, so just watch movies on Netflix or YouTube what have you. They often have new shows on though so that is good. Back in the day I rarely had time to watch tv, working.

Too much television isn't the best anyway, but it is good home entertainment.

I enjoyed sitcoms and westerns. Back in the day the non-cable networks like ABC, NBC and CBS ruled the day with excellent programing. Now most good series and programing is on cable. I find myself watching these series, news ,and sports

I watched a lot of sci-fi and action series. I still watch some today but I never followed any show regularly. I just read the spoilers and recaps and would binge watch seasons in one or two sitting.

Growing up I was a huge fan of Westerns. I watched just about anything on TV. I was a regular TVholic. After I married, it was more dramas and adventure. Occasionally I would watch game shows, and I was into a couple soaps. 16 months without a TV while we were stationed on Guam, ended the soap world. I gradually moved from drama to syfy and now my basic programming is a mix of western, a couple good ones on Netflix, Science Fiction, Adventure, and drama. I've even ventured into Vampires, witches, and werewolves. Add in a good Christian movie and I'm pretty well rounded.

@Kandae11 I didn't miss it, though I would get the soap digest for a few weeks to keep up, but totally lost interest in it after a short while. I was always busy, and we had the stereo and his reel to reel tape deck to keep us entertained.
