Scared Half to Death

I had a scare this week. I called my sons home phone and left a messages, he always calls me back when he can't answer, but he didn't. I called the next day and still no answer. I called his wife and her office told me she wasn't there. It suddenly struck me that he and his wife could have been in an accident.
Scared me half to death. I don't usually call my sons cell phone because he's often in meetings. But I felt this was an emergency and called his cell phone. He answered and told me he was in a meeting in DC and would call me as soon as the meeting was over.
And he did after he got to his hotel. He said he could see the White House and it looked quiet and peaceful. He usually calls me when he's going out of town because he knows I worry. He apologized saying he was so busy right up to the time to leave that he forgot. I accepted, but I'm thinking he'll remember to call next time. I know he did forget because he's a good thoughtful son

I'm very glad everything was okay. I worry as well when my husband doesn't answer his phone for whatever reason.
My kids are still young but I'm sure they will scare me like crazy too when their older.

@Courtlynn But I don't like to disturb him when he's working unless it's a have to.

@RubyHawk Those boys will always be our boys, regardless or how old they are! Chad does this to me, he forgets to call and let me know that he and Kris are doing fine. I worry, that's the bottom line:(

@RubyHawk My daughter is more independent. Whenever Chad gets hurt or something bad happens, he calls his 'Mom!' lol

I know the feeling, and the awful thoughts that run through your mind as you try calm down to a panic.
I often wonder how they coped before cellphones. I would go away for weeks on holiday with friends, with no contact besides the "we got here" call.
