I don't know if they are particularly beneficial but I'm sure they can't hurt.

@JudyEv Exactly. Anything that makes us think and use our brain has to keep it going. It is when people just sit and do nothing all day and the brain doesn't get any stimulation. It is the same thing if we don't use our bodies to move around, they get stiff.

@ramapo17 True, completely agree with you on that our brain needs mental exercises to keep it going functional for long long time.

@just4him I always play all different kinds of games on here when I am not on MyLot. I love a challenge and I always try to beat my previous scores and answers.

@ramapo17 The time to start those games is before you have it. I play them all the time, and I find my memory is actually improving instead of getting worse.

That would depend on the age of the people. My mom was in her late 80's and had a stroke and couldn't talk. She also couldn't use one of her arms. I use to have some games that young kids would play just to keep her mind going and trying to use her one good arm. If we are talking about a healthy person word games are good to. Whenever my husband and I take long car or plane trips I always have crossword puzzles with me. I think every thing the person can do is beneficial.

@ramapo17 You are right about the age combination with games and that what helped your mom keep her arm into being stable was really something to know about. Yes crosswords puzzles are really beneficial for trying out the intelligence and training the brain.

@kavinitu It could be, but I wont be able to answer you this question as I have no games installed in my phone. I avoid installing games in phones as it reduces your battery life and makes you more addicted.

Yes it can. Those series of test can show which side of your brain you used most of the time. When you found out which side of your brain your using most of the time, you can select an activity can be beneficial for you.

Any game where a person has to think is beneficial. When my mom had a stroke and alzheimers, I use to play all kinds of games with her. She was in a wheel chair and didn't get around at all. My dad was to old to play games with her so I always did. I don't know if it ever helped but it helped me knowing I was trying to help her.
