It Doesn't Have to Taste Bad

With the diet I'm on, there are so many foods that there should be no reason for food that tastes like you're on a diet. I've tasted those kinds of foods, and no thank you. Might be why I never tried a real diet before now.
However, with good food in my fridge, it's easy to come up with good dishes to serve on the table, even if that table is my computer desk , or the TV tray in the living room. I do sit at the table, but not often.
So the picture is my breakfast this morning. It's an egg bake, but unlike the past egg bakes I've made, this one is zucchini and onion, blended in my Ninja, and put into a casserole dish. Verdict - Delicious! Next time I'm going to add tomato. I thought about it this morning, but forgot to take it out of the fridge until I had everything mixed up and ready for the oven. That should make it very good as well.
What was your breakfast/lunch/dinner? Thanks for reading.

Looks good I am very fond of all types of squash. I however don't like breakfast foods. I seldom eat breakfast.

@kobesbuddy Sometimes I need to eat as soon as I get in from swimming. I don't eat before I swim. It's best not to if you're losing weight like I'm trying to do. The exercise keeps burning the calories all day if you exercise first. That's one reason why I don't swim on Saturday. I'm used to being in the pool by five and then eating by 7 - 7:30. The pool opens at 7 on Saturday. I would be starving by the time I got home.

@just4him Absolutely! Breakfast means 'the break from a fast'. We went without food, all night long!:)

@just4him I just love quiche, I've been making them for years. I make seafood ones with baby shrimp and crabmeat in them, or asparagus or just cottage cheese and eggs. They make for a nice quick meal, just slice a piece and microwave it, love it for my workday lunches.

Yes, some so called "diet" foods are recipes are very good indeed. I have had some that I like as much as their higher calorie alternatives. I had toaster waffles for breakfast. I am making a turkey meatloaf for dinner. I am not sure what lunch will be.

I had leftovers for breakfast - beef with onions and tomatoes, and a grapefruit. I just finished lunch - summer squash, tomatoes and onion. I have fish thawing for supper. I'll probably have frozen fruit with it. It's a fruit salad blend. I just took it out of the freezer and put it into a bowl to thaw.

@DianneN I haven't seen anything that says not to. And I am losing weight, at least inches as my clothes are getting roomier. I can tell it in my belly, and my calves now. I can't wait to step on the scale to find out how much I've lost.

We only eat vegetables and fruits with some of these being blended or made into smoothies and we are also juicers. As we do not use animal products (and haven't for years), meals are simple and many are raw.
Know what happens to people who eat like this? They usually stay healthier longer and slender for life.
For us, there is no such thing as a diet, but there is a healthy menu and a lifestyle we can live with.

@just4him It makes a huge difference in health and appearance when people follow a healthier menu, doesn't it?

That's great and I admire people who can do that kind of lifestyle. Personally, I like meat. I don't eat a lot of it, but i don't go without either. I am eating more vegetables than I did before. Fruit was never a problem, I love fruit. So now my diet is mostly fruits and veggies, and I'm starting to lose.

@just4him Gosh Valerie, that does look delicious! What an inviting breakfast, instead of a traditional, gluten_free Engish muffin that I ate, with apple jelly. Coffee has to be my morning drink! You will do just fine on this new diet. I've heard that it's better to call it a 'new eating plan.' It's like swearing off, ever going back to unhealthy foods. I don't know if you ever had that problem, but I sure did! I loved foods that weren't good for me, especially sweets. We had meatloaf for supper, macaroni &Cheese, and green-beans with slivered almonds.

@kobesbuddy I've seen other people do that too. My grandmother did it also. I never have. I did look up a homemade tomato sauce recipe and printed it out. Now all I need is five pounds of tomatoes.

@just4him I always resort to catsup, which makes the top brown a little bit.
