Good afternoon.Yes,are we.When we were growing up as many told us that selfishness is wrong. We should not be selfish.Well for being growing up in the big depression I guess I was selfish. We had to hang onto everything that we had. Now that I am much older do not think I am selfish? Yes I think about my self not about the other. Is this wrong to think that way. I do not feel that I am and know that I am not.But there comes a time when we have to selfish. Not sure I am saying this correct but ? Now I do not know how do define selfless .Do you photo is by what you see at the bottom. how about you are you selfish or selfless

I am selfish with some things. For instance, I won't want to share a boyfriend.

For me it is important to be Selfless more than selfish, but at the same time letting God know if someone is genuine and let that be your selfless alert. When it comes to helping out those who are less fortunate, no matter where a person admits being selfless, such a platter to know.

There is a margin to being selfish and margin to being selfless. Either way excess is stupidity... First help yourself...meet basic necessities...food, clothing, shelter, medicines, transport, and a minimum needed to be happy ...like your television subscription or Internet. Note there is no cruise in there, or luxury car in the list, nor mansion or bunch of servants...and lots of bank balance, etc. Once you have enough for meeting the basic necessities for now and in future, set aside a small percentage of it for some fun, and an equal amount for donating and making others happy. That is how I do it. I don't say that is the way everybody should do. I don't like asking others so yes, I am selfish I will look after me first.

I would define "selfless" as someone concerned more with the needs of others than their own. I am not selfish.

That is a hard one to answer. I never think of what I need and when I do, I think that is being selfish. My family says otherwise!!

I think that there is a point at which we all reach and we have enough and after that some, not all, of us become selfless. But I do know plenty of people that have enough and should be selfless and take from me. I'm not the type to keep things just because. If I cave it, I share it or give it away once I know that my own needs have been met.

Selfless is when you do things for someone else without expecting anything in return. Most of the time I am selfless. I'm always willing to help people out if they need it. I know I can be selfish too.

Probably a little of both. There are times that I just don't feel like sharing something. Other times, if you want it, it's yours.

You said it right. I have injured shoulders and I know people see me lugging my suitcase and doing things, but, I can only do them for myself and my cat because there is no one else to do. So, when I see someone trying to take a carriage down steps I explain I cannot help them and am sorry. I am both. There are times I am very generous and other times I am selfish. I used to at times give money online to organizations here in Israel but I either had to fight with them for my receipt or did not get it. I need the money so my cat and I can live so I do not give right now. If I had lots of money and we owned our own place then I would not hesitate to give. It is very expensive to live in Israel so need the money I have for my cat and myself.

I think I strive to be selfless as much as possible. That gives me real peace. But, there are times when I am selfish. For example, when it comes to taking care of my health, I become a bit selfish, because if health is gone, how will I be able to work selflessly?
