Pass the bread, please! Any more bread addicts?

We were having some Indian food last night, but did not have the naan bread we though was on hand, so I went to the closest store to find some. We usually by frozen garlic naan at Trader Joe's, so I looked in the freezer section first but found no naan. After wandering a bit I asked an employee and she directed me to the "island" where we always buy tortillas. There, I found not only two brands and three flavors of naan and many varieties of tortillas but several other flatbreads and even that great lavosh cracker-like bread. I had no idea that my locally owned neighborhood market had so many varieties of bread beyond the usual large aisle of white, wheat, multi-grain, multi-multi grain, hemp bread, oat bread and sandwich rolls galore. Can you tell I am enthusiastic about bread? I love it and it's even better if I get to slice it myself! Any more bread loving myLottters?

I love bread but it really isn't part of my diet any longer. I severely limit it because it just isn't good for me.

I know that a lot of people have gluten problems. It would be so hard for me to give up my bread.

@JamesHxstatic I don't have gluten problems and I'm not diabetic. My body just doesn't need all of the carbs that are in bread. I don't buy it or keep it in the house because, if I do, I'll want toast with my morning eggs.

I'm really not, but I do like good bread. I really like Dave's Killer Bread. Expensive, but worth it.

My betterhalf is a big fan of bread. He loves naan bread. He would eat bread all day if I didn't nag him. I like whole wheat and not a lot of it.

I can understand that guy; he needs a load of carbs. Whole wheat is best!

@RubyHawk It never seems to make me gain weight either. Anne hates that I can eat that much bread and stay pretty slim.

@JamesHxstatic That's true he can soak in the carbs. Whole wheat is better but he doesn't like it.

Me, me. I am an addict. I buy the multi grain from the store or I bake my own wholewheat bread or rolls when I have the time. To me the aroma of bread in the oven baking is one of the best smells in a kitchen.

Yes, please pass me some of that bread! I know the Trader Joe's bread well . . . I mostly get all my breads from there! There should be another cart thingie with fresh bread that comes in those paper bags. I will say though I don't care for the gluten free varieties (or at least I haven't found one that I'm please with). Otherwise, bring it on!

@JamesHxstatic It is so easy to do James, no doubt you could do it yourself, I dont even need yeast. It uses flour, baking powder, butter, and ice cold water to make the dough. You can add anything in the flour that you want such as sunflower seeds, ground flax and so on to your own taste. Mix the dry ingredients first, then add the butter in to make it crumbly, then add the ice cold water to make a nice dough. Butter a baking dish, throw the dough in there and bake at 425 for 30 minutes..nice golden crust on it, and eat.

We love bread, I use to make all the breads at home, included the naan, the tortillas, the Italian bread, the rolls. The smell while they bake is so good.

@JamesHxstatic my son is the bread maker . Not much change with my parents. We still have good and bad days. My mama is ailing faster then my daddy. It is an unbearable pain to watch this disease take them from me.
