What will you do if you have $1,000,000?

Why do you want to leave the Philippines? Why not use the money to make a change, to make a difference for our country? That amount of money may be used for a good cause.

@Shavkat I can't blame you for giving up hope in our country. But I think as long as people are struggling for a better world there will come a time that the Philippines will be a good place to live.

@JasperTore Our country is hopeless. I don't want to elaborate why. I just wanted to find a new country to stay.

So you want to live the rest of your life near a lake or river for fishing. That is truly a relaxing life indeed. Will the place be in the US or in another country?

@JasperTore Well if I can stay here that would be great...but I am not averse to going anywhere

@TiarasOceanView I see. I would love to stay in my country too. Despite the fact that there are some bad things happening now. I want to use the money to help others and uplift their lives. And somehow they will do the same to others and this will repeat itself until everyone has a good life to live.

Yes, a good house is a must for us. Since Philippines is frequently visited by typhoons. A spacious vehicle for family activity is a good thing too. No more worries about commuting when going in a long road trip out of town. Putting up shops and commercial business spaces is a good source of income to sustain the lifestyle that we have. With this big amount of money, many things can be changed.

@averygirl72 Actually it is a long story cut short. 7 years ago I joined this community to earn some money. That was way back in college. I don't have a frequent internet connection so I rarely visit mylot. I was able to earn a few bucks before but I got busy so I ended up being inactive for a long while. Just now, I am idle in the office so I check my yahoo mail and I run through this email from mylot. Then, I suddenly remember about mylot and I checked if my account is still active. And here I am, coming back again in mylot after a long inactivity.

Yeah, earning this huge amount of money is really hard. But having this huge amount is a big opportunity to change our lives. Your plan to invest and divide the rest with family is a good act. We need to be wise in handling our money because it is not easily earned. We have to use it properly and make sure that it was used for a worthwhile purpose.

@RubyHawk Yeah you're right. Living simply and going by the day to day is fine too. But the whole point of my discussion is to see what people plan to do if ever they come by this amount of me.

That money is enough for me I guess. If you come by the Philippines then you can get a lot of things from this money. U can start with some investments, life and health insurance, buy a house and lot, buy a car and open up your own business. It depends on your imagination on how to maximize the use of this money.

@Jaff1978 I want to go there in Morocco someday when I have enough money. Casablanca is a famous place for shooting of movies. There is also a song about Casablanca. Well, everything in this world is getting expensive because of inflation. The resources are depleting in time so the cost will surely increase. Well, I also don't have the money I mentioned in this discussion and same to you I keep on living.

@JasperTore In the country where I live ( Morocco ) , in the actual days , every think became much more expensive . The everyday living , the electronics , the housing , education , transportation . Everything became much much more expensive . Well , I can say it is not sufficient enough but I don ' t have this money and I keep on living .

I see. But I bet you still have enough money left even if you go to the places that you have mentioned. Haven't you thought of investing the money or putting up a business?

@mildredtabitha Well being optimist is a good thing. Because it helps us do better and always see the bright side of things. It feels like we can make things happen even if it is our first time doing it.

I totally agree with you @KrauseHome about this matter. What sort of business do you plan to put up with this amount of money?

For retirement, this money is enough already but if you wait for your retirement before using the money then I bet the value of this money would have been less compared to when you first get the money. So to make sure the money will be able to at least maintain its value in the years to come we have to invest or put up a business to keep the steady flow of money in our pocket. Getting bankrupt in business can be avoided thru proper planning before doing the business. There is always a risk in business but it can be minimize and manage by doing some studies and planning.
