Good afternoon. My last for this month. How many of us stay in touch with elderly family members and neighbors like we should. We are born alone and die alone. Getting old I got that. But dying alone and when no one noticed your dead. We have or I have heard so many stories on this. Even hear how family members will not come by to claim. Yes,I have and it is very sad. How often do you check your neighbor, family, etc. Have a good balance of the day. Will see you next month Photo is public domaine.

Yeah, people only visit their elders when there is a inheritance involved. Sad and not always the case, but many times. People should respect their elders more, but our society seems to be getting colder and colder. I am not paying for blah, blah, blah, when they would not be where they are without their elders. Society needs a attitude adjustment. Bunch of spoiled brats.

See you again in September for sure! And sending you a song about September by Nana Mouskouri I hope that you enjoy it as much as I always have! That song gives me goose bumps. For real, I feel them right now.

So true! We come and go alone in this world. We do not come with anything or take away anything but memories and lessons of life.

Some people are fortunate to have loving friends, neighbors and family, others are not. There are those who don't like to be around the elderly because it reminds them of their own mortality. They prefer to live in today and not think about the years ahead when they will be old and need help. And some people are just selfish, inconsiderate and rude. It takes all kinds of people to make up the world. Unfortunately not everyone is kind and good. And I, too, have read of elderly people dying and no one knew until the mailman reported days later that the mail was piling up. It's very sad.

Yes, it is sad when people are left alone when they're old. I just visited my parents and had a lovely time with my mother restoring some old garden chairs.

Some of them have moved out. Others have a family of their own, when I leave it was about something else or just a family visit.

Living in an over 55 community as we do, makes you very conscious of the lives and the deaths of neighbors. There are a fair number of emergency vehicles which visit our community.

@amadeo I think anyone who doesn't look after elderly relatives, are very cold hearted. My parents lived to be 92 and 90 years old and I can't imagine not taking care of them. They faithfully took care of their kids, until we left home.

Fortunately , it's not like that here at least till now. . We have a solid family system here , that may be a positive reason for this. Such cases what you mentioned are rare.

I try to check in on my other family members to see how they are. As for me, it is one of my fears that when I die, no one will know as I live alone.

I don't get along with my family, so I don't check up on them at all. My sisters can do that.
