I almost lost my wedding ring!

My ring finger is way thinner now than the day I had my wedding ring measured. I didn’t know that losing body weight means having thinner fingers too. Surprise, surprise. So I have this trouble of keeping my wedding ring in place all the time. Yesterday, I was washing the dishes when my ring slipped from its soapy entrapment and almost, almost went straight to the sink hole. Imagine my relief when I caught it just in the nick of time. My husband would have killed me. Lol What’s your wedding ring story?

Ask to have the size of your wedding ring reduced or sooner or later you are going to lose it. I still have mine on my finger after 45 years, mu husband lost his wedding ring and... I almost killed him.

@sol_cee It happened the same that was happening to you. We were at a restaurant, he went to wash his hands before eating and the ring slipped inside the sink and in the drain.

Used to be too skinny that my wedding ring had to be made much smaller than the normal size (for a normal human being ). After 2 kids, we had to change wedding rings to bigger sizes for both of us. (We both became too prosperous in size from being too happy with our marriage! )

I don't have a wedding ring yet since I am not yet married. But I can imagine what you look like when you save your wedding ring in a nick of time before it falls down the sink. Better put your wedding ring in a necklace to make sure it will not fall down anywhere.

You were lucky. Put some tape around the band until you can get it downsized. My story is about the same as yours.

@lnillerman I was married once - I made a bad choice, so now I am quite happy being single. However there are many people who find the right partner and live happy fulfilling married lives.

When I was first married (14 years ago) my ring was a bit loose. I was working at a nursing home and when I went outside to throw away some garbage, I shook my hands (for some reason that I no longer remember) and my engagement ring went flying off my finger and across the parking lot. Thankfully, I found it asap! Now that I've gained a bit of weight from having kids, I no longer have the problem of ring slippage.

I am glad you have not lost it. My hubby doesn't wear his wedding ring anymore as his ring finger is bigger than before. I don't kill him though as it is not the rings that bind us together but our hearts.

Strangely quite some years ago the ring started pressing down hard...No idea how gingers became fatter but I got it resized. Of course this is a ring hubby put on my finger but not during the marriage ceremony as again it's a cultural thing

My figures would swell when I got pregnant. For the most part I could still wear them throughout my pregnancies, except for my last one. My fingers swell so much that I was having a hard time taking them off. So for a few months I couldn't wear them. I'm happy that I can wear them now.

That would have been awful, sounds like you need to wrap some yarn around the inside of it to make it a little tighter on your finger.

Take a piece of yarn, put it through the ring and begin wrapping it around the bottom, when you get it to your size cut it and tie the two ends together in a tight knot. It will make it fit your finger better.
