Air Quality - Hazardous!

Here in Spokane, Washington our air quality has now been listed as "hazardous". It has been mostly in the unhealthy range for the past few days, but hazardous is a new one for me. We are surrounded by fires - many here in Washington itself, fires in Canada, fires in Montana and fires in Oregon. Going outside for just a few minutes is giving me a headache. This air quality is especially dangerous for children, the elderly and those with respiratory difficulties. I really appreciate fresh air after a short time of experiencing this! I normally cool my house by opening windows at night and run fans. Tonight the windows will have to stay closed though, so I am thinking won't be getting much sleep. About 85 degrees in the house now, and the temps are not supposed to cool down outside any time soon. This has been a crazy hot summer for sure, which hasn't helped with the fires. What is the air quality where you live?
