Do you keep things and put it in a safe? Like some old notebooks, love letters, or anything which have a memory embedded to it? Me, I do. I don't know why I do this. But it has been a habit of me to keep things and put it aside before throwing them. And sometimes I will forget to throw them away and it will be years before I manage to check them again. Then, I will realize that hey, these things meant something to me and it should be keep. There are happy memories, sad memories and other thoughts which are embedded in the items. I tell you a secret, I still have the letter of my high school crush keep on my old wallet. When I go home and search for things in my drawer I sometimes see it and read it. It brings memories back and I don't know but it makes me feel alive.

I used to keep everything, but then I moved to Japan and since coming here I have moved house enough times that I have pared down the amount of things. Sometimes, I take a picture of the things and then give them away. I hope they make other people happy. I always tell the other person what it means to me.

Yeah you need to tell the person your giving your things to how much the items meant to you. This is to make sure they will keep it in good shape and take care of it. I haven't have a lot of moving around so my things are piling up again. I may have to give some of mine too when the safe is full.

@m_audrey6788 Thank you my friend. It is always good to look back to check ourselves and see where we really want to go. In this journey we will face a lot of problems but the thing is we just have to learn from them once we got passed them. This is to make sure we don't make the same mistake again.

Yes, looking back on the past is a good thing too. It helps us realize something which will help us in our future decisions. It is like a guide to our journey.

yes, I did. After years, I have a lot to keep. There are much precious papers, love letters or birthday gifts and of course, the memorable photos. One old lady purse, my mom gave it to me. This purse has been kept over 10 years! Yet, it is not out of fashion!

Yeah, I am not alone with this kind of thing. I also have my old school ID back when I was in Nursery. I can't help to imagine how cute I was when I was a small kid. These kind of things really bring a lot of happy memories back.

@Behindtheguitarbar Well you just need to keep the essential things. Before I collected stamps from mail of my late grandmother. I wonder where those stamp collections are now. I was able to see sample of telegrams too. But now those things are obsolete.

You hit me on that baby! I am also doing that even before. Even if it's from a happy or sad memories I still keep them. I remember the last time I checked some of my stuffs i saw some pictures of my elementary crush. I really like him before when I was in grade 6. But now he became one of my best friends, I told him I saw his pictures and he laughed hard. Those were the days he said. Then we both laughed hard. Looking forward to have some memories with you that will last a lifetime, whether it's good or bad. I would love to have it with you. ??

Well I guess you have a lot of things hidden in your boxes. You got to go through them and sort the items which need to be kept and need to be disposed.

Yeah! I do the same things here. I kept all memories. Like pictures and letters from loving friends in my elementary and high school days. Also, pocketbooks that most popular in that days. I have them all specially my favourite authors still on my safe box. When I buy a new one I’m excited to wrapped and put the date when I buy it. Keeping bad and happy memories are always part of who we are.

You have a lot of things hidden there my friend. You are right to say that those bad and happy memories are what make us who we are. You should share the pocket books to your family or friends. It is a good thing to reminisce the past memories.
