Interesting ways of killing loneliness

Some days we find ourselves alone, especially where people are out all day trying to make ends meet or pursuing one goal or the other and you are home alone. What are those interesting things that can be done to keep oneself busy while at home? How do you kill boredom when you're alone?

In my case, I cook, draw, write and sing. But I admit that sometimes I have to go for a walk in order to beat boredom.
