Irma - Please Think Before You Stay

Irma is coming head on toward the USA, Florida it seems will be hit, from one side or another. Also a warning for Georgia and South Carolina to prepare for the worst. The Gulf is still included, if it does not turn North. They are giving a 5 days warning to head out, save yourself. Not only is Irma a Monster but right behind it comes Jose another monster hurricane. Please, if you are in the path, think about loading up and going up the USA just to be on the safe side.

@andriaperry Every year when this season comes around, I tell myself if I make it through I will put plans in place to spend these months in Guyana, but then the season passes and I forget about it till the next year.

I'm not sure which is scarier @andriaperry I've been lucky enough not to have experienced either one and hopefully I never will.

Mine too but they have days to get out. When we have tornado`s here we have only minutes to shelter in place.

When we had a crisis up at the Oroville Dam earlier this year and had to evacuate, a ton of people chose to stay put. I don't know if it would be smarter to stay put or try to get out if the dam ever actually broke, since we'd likely be trapped in a crazy traffic jam and all drown anyway. We weren't given a five day warning though, we were told we had an hour to get out before a 30-foot wall of water was going to descend upon us (which didn't happen, thankfully.) If I lived in a hurricane zone, I wouldn't take any chances. I'd get the heck out of there and head to somewhere safe. It's not worth risking your life. People who choose to stay put during a natural disaster just baffle me. Sure you might be able to "ride it out," but why take that risk?

@andriaperry I am glad I don't live in an area that gets hurricanes. Is a 5 the worst it can get, or does it ever get worse than that?

@andriaperry Off the eastern coast of Mexico.
As powerful Hurricane Irma tears across the Caribbean towards Florida, a new tropical storm formed in the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday and is threatening to become a hurricane, US weather monitors said.

May God be with you, amen. Here, the question is... why are there so many natural disasters these days? The answer is simple. We as humans have sabotaged the whole natural system by cutting treas, clearing off jungles for commercial purposes, messing with the ecosystem by releasing too much of CO2 and other poisonous gases, messing with the overall temperature of the earth which results in melting of ice in huge amount, compared to what should be in normal cases. I guess we deserve it, since our very existence is sort of.... parasitic and natural disasters are the cure.

This is the talk all over Facebook right now as well. I am glad I live in PA far away from these hurricanes. I assume we will get a lot of rain as well though just not the crazy winds and flooding etc.

@andriaperry I saw a photo when I went to bed last night that Irma already ruined one area. That was all I have seen so far.

We usually get rain and some wind, sometimes tornado`s but nothing like the force when it hits straight from the ocean.

I know people are afraid they will lose everything if they leave, but they could lose everything and their life if they stay. Staying behind does not help anything.
