Rockport ISD and Aransas Pass ISD are closed indefinitely! Rockport and Aransas NEED HELP! The media is keying in on Houston but Rockport was DEMOLISHED! They have NO water, NO electricity, NO groceries and most are now homeless. There is so much help trying to get into Houston, that groups are being turned away. If you or your group are wanting to help, PLEASE CONSIDER ROCKPORT! Please feel free to copy and paste this to help get the word out! Other areas are being forgotten as well. spread the love, the message, and help if you can! I have also heard that areas North of us like Vidor had tremendous damage and are in dire need of aide. I know that as of Friday there was no power so no stores, gas stations, etc, were open. ROCKPORT, TEXAS has been COMPLETELY FLATTENED and they REALLY NEED SOME HELP. They have NOTHING! PLEASE, LET'S GET THE WORD OUT AND DO WHAT WE CAN!
XoXo,
Baya

Ahh... I see you stole my idea for a discussion topic here on myLot, Baya! (That's okay! What is important is that the word gets out there... )
I am not sure how many, if any, of my friends here will be able to help spread the word about this, but I will suggest your discussion to my followers and we shall see what happens. Hopefully one of them uses another site that might spread the word further than I can by myself.

@sugartoes Thank you so much, lil tiger!
Baya and I were wondering how to get the word out about the other areas that needed attention but myLot was the only idea I (we) had. I was hoping someone here used other sites where they could link this discussion or write their own discussion/conversation/topic.
Any help with this is so greatly appreciated!

@Baya78 LOL! I said it was okay, Baya! I was teasing you!
Well, you could have sent them privately if you had ask me in the pm's for my email address. I would have offered it on Wattpad, but there is no way to talk privately there. That is one reason I hoped you would join myLot!

Thanks for suggestions, Utah and our task forces and our LDS mission efforts are already there. More help should be going out soon. In either case, those that are affected my heart goes out to them in my prayers

@vandana7 That's okay, vanny. I am sure some of the other people on myLot will get the word out there for us.
Thank you, anyway!

I was hoping someone here on myLot used other sites they could spread the word on, vanny. I know you are on other sites, but am not sure if any of them allow you to post something like this.
Believe me, Baya has impressed me with the need of these other cities. I am just doing my best to help them out.

Often when disaster hits it is the larger cities that get the focus. We have seen this in the past.

Yes, GG, the reporters always seem to want to only report on the major cities while there are many more cities and towns that have been damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
If you write on any other site, please spread the word about the other places that are being ignored.
Thank you for any help you can get for them! I appreciate that!

Heck, @DaddyEvil the media forgot all about the little towns between Corpus Christi and Houston that were hit first, to the media it was much more lucrative to concentrate on Houston.

I know, Ann! Other than hitting other sites with this information, IDK what else to do for them... Everyone will be re-focusing on Florida now!

@rebelann That's what I was afraid of, Ann! That is why Baya and I came up with this post! We want people to remember there are more than just Houston that was hit with this!
Lil tiger actually tweeted about this to the President. I hope that helps!

I am praying that the right person will see the message and that word gets out. We in Houston were devastated by Harvey but Rockport was FLATTENED... COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED! The elusive "they" say that Rockport may get electricity in 4-8 weeks. Texas heat is no joke. No power, no water, barely any food... People sharing what they have. It is heartbreaking.

I have some friends who live in Rockport. They evacuated. They recently returned to find their house still standing, undamaged. I wish others in Rockport had been as fortunate. My cousins live in the Houston area and did not suffer damage. Even my cousin in Dickinson, who did not evacuate, had no damage to his house. I continue to pray for all affected by Harvey, and now Irma.

@lookatdesktop Thank you! Yes, we are hearing about it, too!
You know some of our friends here are in Florida, or were, at least. I know @ramapo17 is trying to get to her daughter's house in New Jersey. I hope they make it there without problems!

@JeeyanDee I only post here on myLot. I don't have a Twitter account, either. No, I haven't. I wouldn't know how to tag them anywhere.
Several of my friends here do have accounts with sites that will get attention, though. One friend sent a tweet to Trump! I am thinking that might not actually help, but she is thinking outside the box, which is what we needed here!

I didn't think Irma had hit Florida yet, Shaggin! I knew Nancy (ramapo17) evacuated her house there and is on her way to her daughter's house in New Jersey, though.

The group of Christians at the congregation where I worship have already considered Rockport. Our elders surveyed the whole situation and made decisions about the appropriate benevolence needed - financial and otherwise. We are offering help to all affected by Hurricane Harvey.
