Hi MyLot! I'm still around, I promise. It's been a busy, fun and eventful weekend.
On Thursday I did canning with mom. We got almost 14 pints of salsa. I went to dance practice and then out with a friend later.
On Friday I drove about an hour away and met with my friend. We went to a car show and "harvest festival" which consisted of fair rides, and food. We had a great time looking at cars and talking.
On Saturday I choreographed a dance with one my dance friends It's real cool- a sword duet, later I went to a retirement party. I saw so many people I knew.
And today, Sunday - I drove to the largest populated area in this state. I do drive, however am a nervous driver and driving to this area provides me a lot of anxiety. I'm happy to report that I made it safely there and back. A lot of people don't understand my hesitation - but to me that was a huge accomplishment. - I drove there for a friend's Wedding Shower. She was the only person I knew there but I met some of her friends and it struck me -
why do some people get along so well , so easily? Why are some people drawn to other people?
I am thankful right now. For my mom canning with me, for my friends and for safety driving.
How was your weekend, MyLot? What is your opinion on why certain people get along well - right away?

Quite a busy weekend you had. I also canned some salsa made with tomatoes from my garden.

Did you have to help as a kid? I had to, at the time I didn't like it - but now it is delicious and I like doing it in order to have the product later. :-)

I think its because we have a lot in common.
I did not get to can any salsa this year. so now I make a jar when I need it from the home canned tomatoes.

I think we have a lot in common, too. By the way, brilliant idea to use the canned tomatoes for salsa as you need it

Oh you're so lucky to be able to grow Avocado :-) I'm not sure if you can can it -- though I'm fairly sure if you make any certain of sauce, etc out of it that most of those would be preservable. I heard or someone locally who did "avocado pickles" - they said it was good. I love avocados. :-)

Oh thank you so much for writing that. I seriously feel less crazy now... yeah usually people don't "get" it....

They are kindred spirits? Like Anne of Green Gables used to say...Inspire of all external differences there is something that matches and they hit off.
Your weekend sounds fun and busy

That's an interesting thought. I like the "Anne of Green Gables" quote - it makes me want to study out kindreds moreso

I remember my mother and grandmother canning food from the garden every year while I was growing up.
