She Never Betrayed Them....

Pamplona, Spain
September 11, 2017 5:06am CST
She knew where they had gone She knew where they had been All they had done was to play a boys game A kind of thing that some boys play You know how they challenge each other That is all that they did on that day Not far from the School had they gone She knew all about as she heard them say Teacher said "I will not hurt anyone if they own up" Teacher said "I promise that I won´t lift a finger against" They trusted him and gave themselves up A brutal caning is what they got But she did not give them away Her eyes blurred with tears as she saw what he did What he did to them was to betray He never kept his word and in him did they trust Beware the traitor is never sometimes too far away.

Sad poem. Very descriptive. Yes, you do need to be aware of traitors.

Sadly that is so. This is one of the times that I felt really bad for my friends.

@just4him Terrible kind of person to never know what side of the coin he would turn up with. I did not fear him like they did because I already knew that kind of person so you get used to them. But he said twice over that he was not going to touch them and that was really bad of him to do that.

We have to be yes and I could see right through him. I don´t care if he was the Teacher or not and he taught me to not trust adults as such.

@DianneN The School I was at you had to be a bit tough otherwise you would not get out unscathed and my friends can vouch for that too. I know all adults are not bad we just happened to have more than our fair share of them.

That is horrible. No one should be beaten esp. when promised that they wouldn't be punished.

Just how I felt when I saw that happening to them right in front of everyone. I bit my bottom lip trying not to cry all my friends being hurt in such a way.

@FayeHazel Really it was not surprising considering how strict they were there. I was so glad to leave that place even though the education was very good. Of course they cannot do that now but they did then. In another School not so long back I saw the same cruel attitude but it was a different kind of event but even so the disdain for the pupils and the lack of care for them was quite shocking for me in this day and age I thought that they had got rid of the Victorian times.

Very creative poem! The lesson is that some will have our backs and some will beat our backs. God had betrayers and so did Jesus. We need to be careful.

@arthurchappell Such a person is a real misery to be around. I never once found him funny not ever. The very ones he caned more or less hero worship him and I cannot for the life of me understand that. Maybe its me and my outlook. It pained me to see them treated in such a disdainful way like they were worth nothing and to me they meant everything.

Oh no. You had a Teacher like that also? He was never our Form Teacher I was very lucky to escape from his grasp in that sense. Sorry they speak to you and must remind you of something that happened ages ago. Good job that they did not trust him either much wiser not to. He was a real sneak type character.

It has always been a place where there was a Victorian attitude and severity. But most of the time most Teachers did not act like he did thank goodness you just had the odd one like that one.

@JudyEv In this day and age it should not be so. When we were at School this was so and you accepted it as being normal for most of the time.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Some teachers were very brutal and unkind at times. I hope there are not too many like that around now but I guess there will always be some who are severe.

@thelme55 That was mainly punishment for the girls that he used or the dreaded slipper which was no ordinary slipper by any means. It was the way it was then you did not dare back answer a teacher like they might do now.

15 Nov 17
@AllforHim I don´t know why that although they bullied us in many ways and other things we always stuck up for each other and not like now where the sense of being protective to others seems to not exist sometimes. Children now need so much protection.

It is because I thought and well I never thought he would do that to them as he promised not to punish them. No one was allowed outside the School Gates and they had only gone in the Dinner Time to play boys games a little. It was way out of proportion what he did. He could have put them in detention and made them write out 500 lines of I shall not and all that but no he went the opposite way round. Victorian era School was where I went and although I am grateful for such a good education some of the things I experienced there were not what they should have been even then. More like the "Jane Eyre" story which was actually based on the life of Charlotte and her older Sister who was named Maria instead of Helen. Resurgam is the word that comes to mind. In a School in England not many weeks back I was dismayed to see that the same "attitude" is still in force in the background although there was no physical punishment like there was then the same "attitude" was still around. Have a great day ahead and pleased that you are writing here.

But do you know what even today they hero worship the very same person like I was saying to someone else today I don´t get it why they do that. I would not hero worship someone like that.
