Good afternoon
We all know that the big disaster that happen here 15 yrs.ago.
This was unbelievable.I just got in the house after my game.
Put the TV on and there it was. What is this.Watching a movie.
Could not believe that this was happening in NYC.
I was glue to the TV most of the day.
With all the fake news out there on Irma.
Did you see those reporter out there giving us an update on this.
Most of them were stupid. They tell everyone to be safe and then they are there with the rain and wind blowing .This is stupid.Very
The coverage was too long and repeat, repeat, repeat.
This is the most hyped up storm to come by for a while.
This is my feeling and do not jump all over me.
Freedom of Speech and they were stupid.

I lived in a neighboring borough of New York. I will never forget 9/11 and can't believe it's been 16 years already.
My thoughts and prayers for everyone that was affected by this destructive storm Irma and I also kinda wondered why all the newscasters were sent to Florida to cover the storm in areas that had to evacuate.

During 9/11 I was teaching. We took turns watching each other's classes to watch the horrors on the big screen TV in the library. My older son just started his career the day before in NYC and saw the towers go.
I suppose someone has to report the weather. lol

We were still sleeping and my friend called us up in hysterics to let us know what happened. I was mad at her for waking us up, but didn't realize how serious she was til we actually saw the news.
Last night we were wondering why those newscasters were "in" the storm too!!

Yes, it is a day to remember what happened 16 years ago. It's hard to believe it's been that long but with the way the world changed in an instant I sometimes wish we could turn back the clock to a nicer time and not need to worry about terrorists.
I only check in on Irma once in a while, because it is all the same. The damage done by the hurricane is horrendous.

You are allowed your opinion. I did feel that the storm overshadowed the remembrance. I think this is the only 9.11 discussion I saw yesterday.

I find it amazing that we can all remember exactly what we were doing on that day.
I remember it was early morning and I was headed to college. By the time I got inside of my college I noticed that everyone was gathered around the tv which was strange because we had no tv in that area.
By the time I approached the tv I saw that one of the buildings looked like it had been damaged, smoke was coming out of it too. It was shocking, did feel like I was watching a movie.

I tried not to think about it, but I happened to remember it since it was my nephew's bday before the tragic loss of 3000 people. It was morning when I was supposed to go to school when it was reported all over the news.

We were in a hotel room celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary when 9/11 happened so the date is engraved on our memory too.

I was hungover that morning. They were talking about it on sports talk radio. I had to turn on CNN to see what was going on.

You know, you're right about the hurricane coverage.
Here's a summary:
"We'll go now to our reporter Tony Toopay in the south end of town. What's it look like, Tony?"
"Brad, the wind is blowing so hard I can barely stand up and it's raining so hard I can't see across the street! Back to you, Brad."
"Thanks, Tony. Now we'll go to our reporter Sandy Slipskirt in the west side. How are things there?"
"Brad, the wind is blowing so hard I can barely stand up and it's raining so hard I can't see across the street! Back to you, Brad."
"Thanks, Sandy. Now we'll switch to Billy Blowhard in the exclusive side of town. What can you tell us, Billy?"
"Brad, the wind is blowing so hard I can barely stand up and it's raining so hard I can't see across the street! Back to you, Brad."
"Thanks, Billy. Now we turn to chief meteorologist Itza Jestagest for the latest on the storm."
"Thanks, Brad." (Shows radar.) "It's raining everywhere."

I will never forget 9/11 either. My youngest son was 5 at the time. He stayed home from school that day because he was sick. My husband was off that day from work. My son had cartoons on. My neighbor called and told me to switch channels because a tower had been hit by a plane. I changed it and my husband and I were shocked and glued to the TV for most of the day.

Yes it was overdone. They were unnecessarily risking their lives and especially CNN makes a huge drama over all these events for sure.

I agree with you, that was my very first thought! What are those stupid news reporters doing, right on the shoreline filming this violent storm!:( Are they crazy, or what? Many of them have been killed, through the years doing stupid things, just like this!:(
