How's your day going?

I got a call from my friend five minutes ago. She's on her way home now but her train suddenly stopped. Passengers were not allowed to get out. Announcements in Japanese were blaring over mega speakers but she could not understand a thing. I could sense that she was panicking and I told her to do step 1- breathe in, breathe out. When she spoke again, her voice was not shaking anymore. Her train would be one hour delayed. Somebody committed suicide, jumping on the railway. What a sad Thursday.

@sol_cee ..Well..As far as I know..I don`t hear about things like that because Germans lifestyle are simple and enjoy their life to the fullest (base on my own observations)

@hereandthere I asked. My friend said that the train stopped in a station, not in the middle of nowhere as I previously imagined, and they could attend to their bladder problems anytime.

That's really very frightening for a person not to know about such foreign language. Good thing she called you.

That is not a good day and especially to your friend who is traveling in train in Japan and someone just did 'harakiri'.
In my case, its tiring but fulfilling.

that got my heart beat fast .. I and the many commuters witnessed a young man got hit by a train and his head was dragged some meters away.. his brother picked up the head by the hair and ran as fast as he could and tried to re-attach the severed head on to the body... that happened nearly 40 years ago but I can still see it in my mind every time we drive through a railway track .. that experience haunted me for years .. and still haunts me every now and then.. something I need to deal with.. The sound of horrors from the onlookers was haunting ...

That is sad... I can understand your friend's panic. I think that I would have done the same thing.

That is very sad. It can be quite frightening if you can't understand what is going on.
