How strange the life circle is!Today while watching my mother-in-law, I was thinking about that.A few years ago she ruled her family. But today she is in that states which is unexpected. She`ve forgotten many things. She tries to run away.My husband & sister-in-laws are unable to control her.Her medical report says there is no problem. We don`t know what to do.She is 60.She behaves like a child. It seems to me that life circle makes us child again in the last phase of life. What do you think?

As @LadyDuck said 60 is not an old age.It is very unfortunate about her present condition.

@fly802 that one day you will be grown up and later years you will behave like a baby when you grow older.

Maybe she is getting the Alzheimer, though I would not wish it on her. Yes it is strange the life circle.

It sounds like she has dementia and it is a disease that takes away reason and changes people.

Wow! In this day and age, 60 is still considered young. I wonder if she has dementia?

@fly802 Either that or early onset Alzheimer's. I'd get a second opinion. Your poor mother in law. Hugs!

It sounds like she now has dementia. All these behaviours are typical of Alzheimer's disease. I've very sorry for you all. It will be a tough road ahead.

@fly802 I hope that the doctors will be able to diagnose her so that your family is not in the dark and can get educated about what is happening will happen and how to prepare for it.

This is very sad, also because 60 is not an old age in our days. My Mother is 96 and she still rules her house.

That's a difficult situation for your family. It sounds like dementia, but 60 is pretty young for that.

I think you're right. I know I have friends who are dealing with aging parents too - I have noticed with my dad too -- childish behaviors, unreasonableness, temper tantrums.... happy to say my mom is alright

The more shocking news is to me that my mom is also behaving like my mother in law.She just tells and not ready to hear anything.Don`t know why this happens to me.

I think she is in the early stages of dementia. Not all elderly will get that condition.

Serious, only 60 and already faced that problem. OMG! Now you scare me. I thought people only face that when they were in their late 70s.

@fly802 I thought more about this case while walking to the doctor yesterday. Some blood tests or special tests could pinpoint if her body needs special hormones or chemical treatment.

60 is quite young to be in such a state, if she really doesn't have any health problem like what you said. Did she ever say why she wants to run away?
